Zidane:"Ordinanza de tirare il costume!!" (Stop pulling my shirt!!)

Materazzi:-"Taciti, enculo, hai solamente cio che merite..." (Shut up,enculo, you get what you deserve...)

Zidane: -"si e cio..." (yes, you're right...) Zidane then walk away

Materrazi:: -"meritate tutti ciò, voi gli enculato di musulmani, sporchi terroristici"

Then we all know what happen next.

italians are the biggest divers, but zidane lost his cool. his actions deserved the red card. whether zidane cost the french the world cup is debatable, him getting sent off did not help, especially since he is one of the best penalty kickers.

What Zidane did was wrong. If you're going to get sent off, better to get your money's worth and do some *real* damage.

Seriously, it's sad that he ended his career like this, of course; but in a few years, we'll only remember him for the level of his skill and not for the weakness of his headbutts. The insane Portugal vs Netherlands match, in contrast, is going to set a damaging example to kids for years to come.

Very unlikely.

Players have always tried to provoke (and often hit) each other when the referee isn't looking. Even if it's proven that Materazzi tweaked Zidane's nipple and followed up with a racist jibe, the worst that he can expect is a perfunctory fine and a brief ban. Given the unbelievable amounts of money that players earn, Materazzi will see this as a bargain price to pay for doing something that helped his country win the World Cup. And any other player would feel the same.

doesnt professional athletes hear these kinda trash talking all the time? i play hockey in a recreation league and even i get stuff like dat all the time. shouldnt zidane be used to this by now? also, there are time where no matter what they say, you just have to walk away. whenever ur in a championship game, nothing is more important then winning. zidane owe it to his teammates and his country to keep his cool. he can kick materazzi's @$$ after the game in the parking lot, but during the game dont be stupid.
