Thanks for the pictures, I've not seen some of the pictures before either. As for the drama, it started filming already, Pi mentioned about filming in his recent jweb entry. Glad to know he's occupied doing something, the folks over at LoveSong forums already announced that they're going to sub the show.

Pi is so popular because... I don't think I can fully answer the question, many factors I guess. Anyway, a good indication of how popular the artistes are in Japan will be taking a look at the magazine/Oricon polls that are conducted on a country wide basis. Folks like Yamapi and Kame(KT) do appear high on the list in such polls, the same cannot be said for the other JE members. Also, the sales volume of singles and such do give an indication of how much 人气 an artiste has. I suppose like the Chinese entertainment industry, the extent of one's popularity is not really measurable but it can be felt as long as one pays attention to the industry.

You are welcome. I thought these were the best of the whole lot there. Anyway, see Beansprouts, you still care about what Pi is doing, that alone will at least mean he is still somewhere on your list ..any idea how many episodes that new ancient serial will be?

Oh wow, that's certainly one awesome picture.

I still do care about what Pi is doing; I believe I will always be following Pi's career in the entertainment industry, but I don't think that kind of feverish obsession I had over Pi earlier this year will be back anytime soon.

I saw some short clips of Pi in his new drama "Bai Hu Dui" with the Kattun member, what's his name, is it Kokie? anyway, Pi looked good! He stood out among the 2 scenes I saw of groups of guys going for a mass bath outdoors and practising their martial Arts indoors. so far Pi looks good in period times...better than in that fortune teller outfit and hairdo in Kurosagi which I thought he didn't stand out. It feels that this serial might be a big production. btw, those clips can be seen on U-tube.

Now that I realised that Jin gave up his education quite early, I feel that either Pi is quite smart or he has the discipline not to be influenced by his close friends. Anyway, I am proud of Yamapi for doing well in his studies so far.

This won't be a drama series but a drama special broadcast on two consecutive nights in January 2007. Yamapi's first period drama and a tragic one too. The drama, Byakkotai, which means White Tiger Brigade, takes its name from a true account in history. The Byakkotai was a group of young men aged between 15-16 years of age who trained to be warriors and fought for their clan during the Boshin Civil War. This participation however ended in their death by seppuku in a show of loyalty when they thought that their clan had been defeated.

It is said that Yamapi will play 20 year-old, Shintaro Sakai, a descendant of one of the Byakkotai samurais, who visits the Byakkotai Memorial Hall. The drama will then trace the history of the tragedy of the Byakkotai at the Boshin Civil War. Yamapi will play two roles, one during the Byakkotai period and one during modern age (Shintaro Sakai).

I heard that he has to learn to use the sword and bow. Filming for drama series or drama specials normally start one season befor they're actually shown, and I suppose in this case because it's a period drama that requires action sequences, it will take a longer time.

Don't worry I'm sure he has lots of things lined up after this. Artistes spend a lot of time doing PR work too in between filming for shows.

Indeed the thread is slowing down, kinda hard to discuss about an artiste who do not have much public activities recently.

Anyway, I found an interesting article in Livejournal, the question posed here is whether Yamapi's fans will still remain by his side if he doesn't look the same anymore --- or worse disfigured. Alot of questions pop up in the comments which are truly very intriging, some really question how far you are as a fan and how far Yamapi is as an idol/entertainer surviving in the harsh entertainment industry.

The type of expectations that fans have are certainly scary sometimes, and the type of things people say are truly whacked out sometimes. Take some time to read through the article and the comments, definitely worth your while.

Kame is busy filming his drama, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, and busy with KAT-TUN activities of course. The drama is not doing well at the moment, first two episode has aired, considering how badly Suppli did last season, looks like Kame is definitely not pulling in the ratings. Even Kurosagi did better in the ratings department.
