Why did you put a crying icon? I have never seen clips of him when he was that young...the youngest was when he debuted with NEWs for me.Originally Posted by Sugar

You might want to check out this clip and this clip for Pi in his younger days. These clips are part one and part two of a old episode of 8Jidai whereby Johnny Juniors members made regular appearances in back in late 1990s. They were having a gym practice in this episode, folks like Takki, Tsubasa, Subaru, Yamapi, Jun, Nino and Toma all made appearances. Watch (and laugh) at them trying to do flips and such.
Thank you Dear Beansprout.
I put a crying face because he seems to get picked on and everything.. and Nobuta seems to show more affections towards Shuji more at this pointOriginally Posted by strawberry
I see. I thought he was pretty cute when he realized that he loves Nobuta and didn't want to go to school and when he was left behind when Shuji and Nobuta went double-dating.Originally Posted by Sugar
Something random to add. I heard that Koyoma was lamenting then how come he did not quite create a stir when he entered Meji Uni as compared to Yamapi when he got in a year later and causing some excited frenzy and possibly slight chaos at the same uni...Koyoma's funny...but I would be excited too if famous celebrities attended the same school as me and Koyoma's not bad too.
Yes, Yamapi looks very good in photo spreads and his dramas are not bad esp Nobuta! BUT actually,I enjoy his interviews on TV. They re equally interesting if not more, (not to mention he's very easy on the eyes at the same time). There's been something interesting to note in the few variety clips of him I have seen so far.
I thought it was cute how he was annocing how much he loved NObuta on the no school day.Originally Posted by strawberry
another scene that made me laughed was when Shuji and Akira taught Nobuta how to date a guy. Akira tried to demonstrate by hugging Nobuta, but he lost his nerves. The scene then switches to to Shuji and Akira hugging in order to demonstrate![]()
If you go back to the earlier episodes, there was once scene when Akira just put his hands around Nobuta's shoulders, that was when he was not yet in love with her or at least he did not know yet, when you compared that scene to the above one you mentioned, it shows the differenece when he realize the truth and that make the scene extra cute. I also like the demonstration scene, Shuji in particular was cute, the way he pretended to be Nobuta and turned Akira's role of that male classmate down.Originally Posted by Sugar
I just finished Nobuta wo PRoducei personally want more from the ending somehow...
Minna-San…..
I observed that Yamapi is really quiet when he is not required to participate in variety shows. For eg, when he makes appearances, he does not get involved in small talks unless the hosts or other participants talk to him. I guess what I am trying to say is that he does not draw much attention to himself despite being popular. I suppose that’s part of his charms.
Recently, he has been pinning his fringe up. Its kawaii but he should go for a haircut. I prefer him and guys in general to have short clean-cut hair. My mom always asked me why Japanese guys like to tie or pin their hair up. I suppose its very normal for them, part of the kawaii Japanese culture.
About Nobuta, the ending is ok for me but I get what you mean as well..you might have felt that there should be more to the ending and not as simple but Japanese dramas are pretty simple.
Btw, I started watching train-man since its re-showing on cable now and to my surprise, realized ‘Nobuta’ is in it. She feels so different, like some teenage mischievous schoolgirl. Surprise, surprise. So far, I like train-man based on that 1 episode I saw…its engaging drama and the guy is not ugly, just short but the female lead is really tall and so elegant and beautiful! She’s with Kame now in that new serial. Wow, lucky guy!
I notice Pi being quiet in variety shows as well, but I always thought it was cause he's not very good at talking and don't know the interesting/funny stuff to say to spice up the show, which is why he always clammed up.![]()
As for the pinning up of hair thing, not just Pi does it, quite a few JE folks do it as well. I read it somewhere that in Japan. it's considered polite to pin up the fringe while eating for both guys and girls since it's hygienic. Nothing quite beats the scene in Nobuta when Akira pinned up his hair to imitate Shuji when he slept over at his house.
Pi is currently being the official supporter for the Japanese Volleyball team at the on-going Volleyball Championships in Japan. Somehow I've not been keen to watch the clips of him performing as he's with the two Thai boys. Not that I have anything against Thai people, just that I think it's really weird to get Thailand people to be the official supporters for the Japanese team.![]()
My sis says that he looks different in the recent clips, I for one, can't see any difference in him..she said he lost weight.Originally Posted by beansprouts
Talking about his appearance on variety shows, I much prefer seeing those where he is the guest for the day so that he is forced to speak up because he would do what he needs to do. About the pining up of hair, my point really is that he should go for a trim soon. Agree on that imitation scene.
Btw, I really get what you mean about the 2 Thai boys. I even felt that that theme song sounded more like a Thai song than a Japanese song.

Train Man, i honestly like the movie a tad better.. since the series kind of dragged it out. The short guy, however, is a better looking Otaku because he has the dorkinest. The girl, she is pretty.. but she was more model like pretty. The girl in the movie was more elegant.. Anyways, neverthelss it was a decent show.
I thought the Tv couple looked more handsome actually compared to the movie couple. Anyway, that TV actress looks really like a model. she looks like Ms Universe!Originally Posted by Sugar
I mentioned under the Arashi thread that I have started reading Yamapi's J-web blog entries and based on what I seen so far, some random observations i made:
- he really loves fireworks
- he is close to his family
- he feels his b-day is special (I feel the same way about mine)
- he loves ketchup
- he swears a bit
- he seems to be 'married' to Jin and Toma, he seems to be one that place friendship above all else....possibly love too.
- he does not seemed to be suffering from a lack of sleep, in fact, he seems to be leading quite a relaxed pace of life despite full schedules of photo shoots, fiiming etc. The Japanese entertainment industry does not seemed to push their aritsts as bad as the HK world.
- he loves to eat (that I think most fans know)
- he loves to take walks
- his sister is about 3 years younger than him.
- he went through a rebellious stage
- he used to smoke, not sure if he does now but the author and myself both hope he does not.
- he does not seemed to study at all
- he hates tests.
- he takes the densha
I wonder if he drives? I assume he did....
there, ramdom usless info as in Beansprout's words but prob of interest to some fans. at this point in time, i am kind of confused on what the real Pi is like. He seems quiet and shy but actually there's much more to him than i thought.
Smeone commented that he seems to be open in his entries but he does not reveal much.
Time might tell I guess...
Pi also have fans among the japanese volleyball team, on one of the programmes, one of the players said that she was a fan but he did'nt have much reaction, prob he gets this too often to feel anything![]()

Random information about jwebs in general I gathered:
Pi is so far the only person who updates his jwebs every single day since it first started around 3 years ago. His initial entries were kinda moody, since it coincide with NEWS formation which was practically a bad time for all the juniors back then.
Arashi is currently doing a UraArashi thingy, updates about their concert and stuff. Ohno writes short jwebs, incredibly short, he can join Yokoyama Yuu from Kanjani8 in the competition for the shortest jwebs around.
Kanjani8 is by far the most coordinated group, they update once a week, on the same day. Some of the members are having this story telling relay thingy, the story is pretty weird, and it gets weirder every week. Ryo's jwebs are really interesting to read sometimes, he can be such a meanie, yet he can say some really insightful things when he wants to.
Younger folks from NEWS do not have regular jwebs, they only get to have a regular updates when they are in dramas. Massu and Tegoshi are updating jwebs as they are both in dramas this season, but it will end when the season is over. Just like Shige's jwebs ended when last season ended. The older folks like Koyama & Pi do get their own jwebs, Ryo is with the K8 side since NEWS is technically suspended at the moment.
I am feeling quite free at the moment, let me just spam the thread a bit...
JE is really really smart, I bet they are earning bucket loads of money by doing this jweb thingy. Everybody from SMAP down to KAT-TUN are involve in this thing although not everybody updates regularly. One way to make the fans happy by letting their idols send 'personal' messages to them, and to earn alot of money.
The jwebs are screened by JE, naturally cause it would be bad if the idols say some stuff they shouldn't say. For a period of time, Takki wouldn't shut up about his drinking in his jwebs.
Back to Yamapi --- As much as I like Pi, I must say he truly write some boring stuff on his jwebs, compared to folks like Koyama who gives updates about what he's doing in the form little anecdotes about his life, Pi's revolve around food most of the time. His monthly article so far has been rather... unimpressive as well, he should take some lessons from Koyama and Ryo, even Shige whose jwebs were really fun while they lasted.
Food? awww, my fav topic...any thing about food, can u guys post it?
