Smile Wuxia 6 Degrees of Separation (a game, sort of)

It's been said that there are six degrees of separation between any two individuals in the world. That is, every person is separated from any other person on this planet by six intervening relationships (i.e. somebody knows somebody who is somebody's dad who is somebody's boss's roommate, etc.)

Let's test this theory by linking together seemingly far-flung characters from the Jin Yong or Gu Long universes.

I'll start: try to connect Pau Sik Yerk (LOCH) to Chiu Mun (HSDS) in six relationships or fewer.

Not bad. Pau Sik Yerk was the mother of Yeung Hong, who was the sworn brother of Gwok Jing, who was the father of Gwok Seung, who was a friend of Cheung 3 Fung, who became (through Cheung Mo Gei) the eventual grandteacher of Chiu Mun.

You get to set up the next pair, then.

Sweeper Monk and Du Gu Qiu Bai

edit: i think i should take that back. Since we know nothing about either of them The other thing is that only the novels LOCH, ROCH and HSDS are well connected, so it would be hard to combine the other novels.

Wang Chong Yang (LOCH) ---> Cheng Kun (HSDS)

I have more than six in this particular relationship, but here's an option:

Sweeper -> Xu Zhu -> [the next few beggar chiefs] -> Hong Qigong -> Yang Guo -> Brother Condor -> Dugu Qiubai.

Please feel free to amend the above.

We could try this: the Janitor Monk taught Siu Yeun San, who was the father of Kiu Fung, who was the martial ancestor of North Beggar Hung 7 Gung, who taught Yeung Gor, who met the Divine Condor, which once belonged to Dook Goo Kau Bai.

see, the problem is that it's too ambiguous in the middle. Maybe we should stick to characters that we actually know more about. The options for people knowing DGQB are pretty limited

So Qiao Feng does not necessarily have to know Hong Qiqong personally?
That would make things a lot easier!
    i.e.:
Sweeper -> Xiao Feng -> Hong Qigong -> Yang Guo -> Brother Condor -> Dugu Qiubai!

It would. I'm kind of on the fence on this. They didn't know each other personally, but "martial ancestor/descendent" was a very important kind of relationship in wulin.

    In that case:
Wang Chong Yang (LOCH) ---> Cheng Kun (HSDS)
    could be:
Wang Chongyang -> Huang Yaoshi -> Yang Guo -> Lady Yang in yellow -> Shi Huolong -> Cheng Kun

    For your first one Ken:

Bao Xi Ruo was the wife of Wan Yan Hung Lie, whom was defeated by Genghis Khan, whom was the ancestor of Zhao Min (perhaps not direct ancestry, not too sure here).

    3!

Sweeper Monk met with Jiumozhi at Shaolin, Jiumozhi and Jinlun Guoshi were both Guo Shi of Tibet, JLGS had various fights with Yang Guo, who had the Divine Condor as his pet, just like with Dugu Qiubai in the past.

Wang Chongyang's martial arts brother was Zhou Botong who was Guo Jing's sworn brother. Guo Jing wrote down his martial arts legacy and passed it into Wulin in the form of the Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber. Zhou Zhirou got both weapons and learned the secret martial arts within. Zhou Zhirou was the erstwhile love interest of Zhang Wuji who in turn was the enemy of Cheng Kun.

Hong Qi Gong long died before the birth of Shi HuoLong.

But he's still related to HQG right? I mean GX died before ZZR was born too and we never know whether the Lady in Yellow was born before YG died

Oh? H7G got children... Interesting... So let's all assume all beggars have blood relations to H7G.. Hmm.. Lucky old man..

H7G died when YG is sixteen.

Zhang JunBao is in his teens when YG is thirty-six (twenty years gone)

Zhang JunBao becomes a ninety year old(or was it hundred?) old man Z3F , and Shi HuoLong is middle aged by then. (let's say seventy years gone)

So Shi HuoLong is related to H7G even if he was born 90 years after his death?
