I'm looking forward to the same dramas too! I'm just wondering if Kyumei Byoto may be treading the same path covered by so many other medical dramas before it, the breakdown of the medical system. And I wish they'd recasted Matsuyuki Yasuko instead of Nanako.

Hmm Teio is probably at that time slot cos of content? It's apparently the second manga adaptation from the author who also was behind Yaoh I think.

I'm not so sure I want to watch Kareinaru Spy if the rumours about Fukuda Kyoko starring in it are true. Eeks...Not sure if Nagase is good enough incentive to brave through her acting.

Yaoh didn't have such a late time slot though, did it? It's probably going to have ratings similar to LOVE GAME.

It looks like her role has been confirmed now. She turns me off too, but I'm still going to give this show a try. I remember really enjoying Remote despite Kyoko being the lead female.

Oh yeah, you're right. It was at 10.00 p.m. Dramas that air late at night tend to have poor ratings with the exception of SP. But it gives them more liberty to be more exploratory in storyline although I don't know how far that would go. Heh. Bathing scenes in the nude like Tadano Hitoshi!?!?

I certainly hope so. I was going to watch it but now I'm not so keen. She's a doll at best. I guess you were well-entertained by Domoto Koichi in Remote. There are few reasons to tolerate Fukuda Kyoko. I still remember the horrors of Fugoh Keiji.

It has just been reported that Eguchi Yosuke was involved in an accident when he tried to avoid a bicycle while riding his bike. He suffered a broken shoulder and has been hospitalised. This might put the brakes on Kyuumei Byoto or mean that his character will have to be rewritten.

Yikes, that's unfortunate indeed. Hopefully this won't mean that the show will be scrapped, but maybe they can write him out of the script for a few episodes to give him more time to recover, then incorporate his injury into the story, or even make him a patient.

Latest update: Eguchi Yosuke has been asked to recuperate for 2 full months by doctors. Filming had just started for the drama on 7 June and Ep1 isn't complete. It is expected that he may be forced to return to the set earlier to film and the broadcast date may be pushed back to accommodate his recuperation. Fuji TV and his agency are in discussion.

Kyumei Byoto Season 4 will air from 11 August. I hope Eguchi is resting well. Don't want him looking pained throughout the drama but looks like the story will revolve around Nanako.

So Nanako's role will remain in hospital instead of leaving? Previously read syponsis that her char will resign and involve of a medical dispute case though.

I pray Yosuke's fast recover too, falling down from a bike is really painful coz I experience it myself too... Hope to see him with Nanako both getting balanced screen time in this part.

I made a mistake. The article was actually talking about a four part SP that Fuji TV has made due to the delay in the filming for Kyuumei Byoto as a result of Eguchi Yosuke's injury.

The SP centres around Nanako's character and will feature guest stars from the past three seasons. The first part just aired tonight.

Liar Game 2 and Fumou Chitai - my dream cast, Karasawa Toshiaki and Wakui Emi together again after Tokyo Cinderella Story, and Amami Yuki with Takenouchi Yutaka. Look forward to see these dramas.

the other I play by ear whether I'll watch it or not.

News on the Winter season is out. These are the dramas that have been confirmed so far. This lineup looks to me the most boring and unanticipated for Winter with plenty of sequels, manga adaptations, idols and weak artistes. Totally not looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update! I've got to agree, not the most exciting lineup ever. I'll probably check out Code Blue 2 and maybe Hancho 2. I liked the mystery element of the Hidarime Tantei EYE tanpatsu, but now that the mastermind has been exposed, the series doesn't appeal to me much. Isn't Saka no Ue no Kumo also going to start airing next season? I'm glad that Masha will have so much screen time this upcoming year, but as Sakamoto Ryoma? Well, I'm not sure how the guy really was historically, but after seeing two portrayals (one by Eguchi Yosuke in Shingsengumi and the other by Uchino Masaaki in JIN), he seems pretty goofy and uncouth. Not that Masha can't pull it off, but it will be interesting nonetheless.

Are you still into Tsukamoto Takashi, Lady Zhuge? Then you'll be thrilled to know he's in an upcoming drama. I don't see any that excites me even though its winter Just one more drama pending announcement before the list is completed. Here are the rest in the meantime.

Yes, I still like Takashi, although not as crazily as I once did. The main cast of Magerarenai Onna is decent, but the storyline isn't appealing to me. Nakanai to Kimeta Hi sounds like Hotaru no Hikari gone awry.

The last of the dramas confirmed for the winter lineup:

    Shukumei 1969 – 2010
    Date: From 9.00 p.m., Fridays, 15 January 2010
    Station: TV Asahi
Cast: Kitamura Kazuki, Koike Eiko, Uehara Misa, Hosokawa Yoshihiko, Fujii Mina, Matsuzaka Keiko (guest star), Maya Kyoko, Tanaka Ken, Okuda Eiji

Nothing good for the winter. It's so dismal.
