i agree with you. her looks are different from other celebrities. other celebrites have that perfect look. but ariel lin has a down to earth, girl next door kind of look.

I've been keeping up with ISWAK2. They are super cute in here but also frustrating. This Sunday, a 2-hour episode will be aired! Yay!!!

And Ariel looks a lot cuter and prettier in this sequel.

I don't think her as cute or pretty. To me I think she would fit better in a more serious type of role. I couldn't stand to watch her in ISWAK because that was too silly for someone like her to play. Although at times I found her character in Love Contract annoying, I preferred it because her character was more serious and less silly. For such awkward roles I prefer someone like Rainie Yang or Cyndi Wang whom can make it silly but not overact that it becomes too much.

Actually the more serious type of role would be less challenging for her as an actress, she (and Joe) have said that Xiang Qin is the complete reverse from her personality in real life. So it would be interesting to watch her act in a character that's more like herself.

That's right. Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu are the complete opposite of their characters in real life. Ariel is more of the quite type but has to play a bubbly character, whereas for Joe, he's a fun and "wild" person but has to restain himself to play Zhi Shu. That just goes to show what a great actor and actress they are.

If I'm not mistaken, that's Du Chun as Tie Zhong Tang in "Da Qi Ying Xiong Zhuan" (大旗英雄传). I get caught up with idol drama too lately, but I happened to pick up this series last year.

ISWAK was one of the best Ariel series, but they could have done better on the script. Definitely it wasn't her fault, and anyway she did a great job on Dong Fang Zhu Li Ye. Love her hairstyle and clothes there Just hope she can act more with handsome guys like Joe Zheng and Hu Ge. Hehehe Well J/K. I still wonder about the script on ISWAK2. Is it their married life? Going to have any kids? I would love to get married at 20 years old, too. So lucky! And the support from the parents...

yeah, i watched a bit of ISWAK and decided she's a lot better than most of those type of actresses, especially ones who take on similar roles. I want to see how she goes with Huang Rong, which is a considerably more interesting character IMO. The series itself doesn't sound that appealing to me though, but i guess i'd watch it if it's a toss up between LOCH 08 and DOMD 08 with HXM as WXB...

I was not a fan of Ariel as I thought she was one of those actresses who got popular purely on cuteness and the lovability of their characters. After watching ISWAK, my impression remained because XQ is one of those lovable characters. I did not think it was really a stretch to act a cute girl.

However, I went to watch another show of hers with Mike He (ok, the storyline was a bit dull I thot so I didn't get past episode 2). I was amazed at the contrast of that character as she was a sullen and sometimes bitter girl. She acted it very well and then I realised that for XQ therefore she was acting very well until I believed she was XQ.

Since then, I've paid a greater attention to Ariel due to her acting chops. Can't wait to see her as HR.

I saw the MV of the Mike and Ariel series. It's Zhong Jian by Fish Leong from Malaysia, I think. Well I was surprised because I just recall Mike from ads of Devil Beside You, I guess Mike isn't much of a Devil here perhaps. Or maybe he is, I just dont know Well I like how Ariel portrays her feelings and expressions when she plays characters. It's just so deep.

Ariel is a well-rounded actress who can take up any role challenge very well, be it dramatic (Love Contract – she's brilliant toward the end of the series) or comical (ISWAK). I watched her first movie “Love Me, If You Can.” I don’t like the story, but she also did an awesome job here. Totally deserved the Golden Horse Award nomination for best actress. Regarding her role as Huang Rong, I think people should give her a chance and watch the series first before quickly deemed her incapable because of her past silly roles or physical appearance.
