Wow, that's rather egotistical of this Lan Lin Wang guy. He kind of sounds like Yang Guo at the end of ROCH, except Yang Guo wore a mask to prevent women from falling in love with his extreme hotness.

LMAO...well I think it was more of a practicality issue, i.e. the mask made him look scarier to beat his enemies? Otherwise they'd think he was too weak/soft or something because he didn't look as fierce, so they'd have more confidence to beat him in battle...or something, I'm not too clear on the details of this myself!

Not that surprised that Ariel is supposedly doing a drama again. It's not the first time she's made a statement/said something then contradicted it.

I wouldn't call her a hypocrite, imo it's just her way of dealing with the media (I think she just likes retaining a bit of "shen mi gan" ).

Alright it's official--add Ariel to the "HG -> FSF" list.

j/k, but "Lan Ling Wang" just had its press conference and Ariel is confirmed as the female lead! (She didn't attend the conference but recorded a video for it.)

They also released a "concept trailer" of the drama--and mostly used clips from FSF's HMY, but I am pretty sure I saw a few scenes taken from LOCH...including a shot of Ariel/Hu Ge on horseback, LMAO...

Anyways looks pretty good (more idol-ish than historical though). I'm glad there's more focus on the Southern & Northern Dynasties period--it always seemed like a very interesting time in history, but very few dramas were made about it so I also don't know much, hehe. XD But now we have the upcoming "Female Prime Minister" and this "Lan Ling Wang", both set in this turbulent period!

Looks very cool! The other male actor is Daniel Chan, who will play the king/emperor.

(To be completely honest though, I don't think either FSF or Ariel are good-looking enough for their roles... I mean, both are good-looking people, but Lan Ling Wang is supposed to be one of the most handsome/beautiful men in history and sorry but I don't think FSF fits the bill...Similarly I've always thought Ariel is pretty but not exactly a stunning beauty...but, as long as the story is good I guess I can overlook that. Apparently FSF turned down almost 10 movie offers for this role, and Ariel also broke her previous "no more dramas rule" for it, and Daniel Chan is pretty famous himself...so this better be good! Interesting that they got one famous actor from each of mainlaind China, TW. and HK to lead this production.)

Speaking of handsome guys, there was indeed quite a couple of hunks who’d worked with Ariel before, including China’s and Taiwan’s Joe, Mike, rising idol WuZun, Mainland [China] handsome guy/hunk HuGe. Although one would gasp in admiration at the sight of hunks, but indifference Ariel regarded/treated all of them like “sisters”. Reporter asked her with whom does she like working with most. She didn’t even think, and chose HuGe who’d worked with her twice. Reason was it’s “fun”. She further divulged to the reporter, saying that, normally she goes with HuGe to the Gym to work out, HuGe, becos’ he wanted to build muscle, when lifting weights, would often emit especially exaggerated “cries/wails”, every time causing her, who was then running on the treadmill, to laugh till it hurts. Nevertheless she’s now also rather “dissatisfied” with HuGe, because HuGe could use the excuse of having to put on weight, constantly eating those delicacies that she’d craved and drooled for very long, and yet because she has to lose weight couldn’t but to eat boiled vegetables which the chef specially prepared for her. “My biggest fantasy now is, heaven, please let the meat on HuGe and myself balance out for once!”

i just thought of something. since apparently HG was dating that other girl during his accident/LOCH filming, did it occur to anyone that he might've had a thing with ariel earlier, when they filmed that tian wai fei xian/fairy from wonderland series together? that was a bit earlier, wasn't it? hehe i just thought of that

^^That may actually have happened. lol. But everyone else (apart from GeChen shippers) seems to think that HG only admires Ariel, but doesn't have a crush on her (that's what he says as well).

Haha, it's the way he stares at his female leads with his peach blossom eyes that makes everyone think he's fallen head over heels with a particular actress, or at least have a crush on her!

At that time he was interviewed about whether he might take a step further with ariel and he said he didn't want to because he was scared he might lose her as a good friend. "她很成熟，而我很真心想交她这个朋友，所以反而不会想是否要更进一步，因为怕失去这个朋友。"

As a gechen fan i was quite sad haha today (especially after seeing hu ge's 师弟's weibo) but then again gechen fans have held the opinion from day 1 that the chances of them being together are very slim. Haha congrats ariel!
