What decade do you consider was the one you like the most, the one you are a fan of.
For me, I would choose the 80s.
1970s - Old school series rule
1980s - Golden Age
1990s - They don't make them like they used to nowadays
2000s - Series has never been any better

Golden 80s...no doubt!

The '80s had better ancient series whilst the '90s had better modern series. So i can't really decide
Have you come here to play Jesus?
I prefer the '80s. Nowadays they don`t have that look anymore, and I like the style back then.
I'ld agree with Ronaldo07. The 80's had a lot of good ancient series. The adaptions of Jin Yong, Gu Long, and etc's novels were very well depicted. Plus there were the 5 tigers who were equally talented
90's had many good modern series with very big name artists in each one. Storylines for it was also unique and had a good plot to it. I do think though that the series produce now are taking it some steps more forward. Certain aspects in real life and the society is expressed. Also the plot to some series are quite new and refreshing.
It comes down to 80's and 90's. I think I would have to say 90's however. Since I'm more familiar with that period and seen a majority of series during that time.
Yesterday's History,
Tomorrow's a Mystery,
Today's a Gift,
That’s why we call it,
The Present.
80's mainly because I prefer ancient to modern, so I don't think any decade could beat the 80's

The poor 1970s are getting no love. There was a lot of great stuff back in the decade of Richard Nixon, wide lapels, and disco. It's a bit slow by today's standards, but arguably more thoughtfully crafted.
I too was debating between 80's and 90's, but I chose 80's. I love the actors and actresses of the back in the day.
How come most 江湖 (jiānghú) wanderers never worry about money? I wonder how a 大俠 (dàxiá) make a living...does meddling in people's business and righting wrongs pay well?
let see, i was born in the late 80s, so by the time the 80s was over i was barely 4 years old. so the 80s to me is like never happened lol. the 90s was pretty good toward the end, the new stuff has less content but more tech... so it pretty much even out.
Pretty surprised myself. Where are all the Adam Cheng, Liza Wang, Gigi Chiu, Damian Lau, Michelle Yim, Wong Yuen Sun, Cecilia Wong 70's fans? I guess spcnet mostly are teenagers, so they don't go that far back. I guess also they did not really dubbed a lot of TVB series back then, I think they started in 1978 or so. So not many people have access to old school 70s series.Originally Posted by Ken Cheng
Finally voted for 1990s. Altho' love the ancient series in 1980s and all my favourite actors were from 80s, i feel that the storylines were better developed in the 90s.

wait, wait, wait!!!
Chinese series as in Taiwanese, HK or Mainland China?
HK = 90s and 2000-2003
Taiwanese = late 90's and 21st century
Mainland China = recent only
Edit: I vote 1990s cos they're best IMO

Of course the "Golden 80s" most ancient series of TVB and few ATV
The 80s has the best artists, acting, storyline, cotumes, martial arts, theme song, ect...
The five tigers, Barbara Yung, Idy Chan, Ray Liu, Chow Yun Fat, Simon Yam, Margie Tsang, Money Chan, Kitty Lai, Sheren Tang, and so on......

The Golden Five Tigers of the 80s are the best wuxia artists ever!
Well, it depends if you mean Chinese in terms of language or geographical region. In terms of language, definitely the 80s...after all, some of you know that LOCH 82 is my all-time favourite series, plus I just overall liked those series during that time period.
However, if we're talking geogrpahical region ("China"), I would say modern, just because I never really had much interest in old Chinese series. Plus geographically, TVB is HK and HK was part of Britain back in the 80s/90s. However, I wouldn't necessarily say modern wuxia. With modern Chinese series I tend to prefer historical dramas or even modern dramas rather than wuxia series.
