BTW, does any know for sure that archery skill is depend upon internal power? it's more like the way u shoot the arrow, technique, not power. ur power has nothing to do with shooting out that arrow, that's the string's job.

But, the inner power can still support the speed and power of your arrow when it is sent out. Think of it this way: Two guys. Guo Jing shoots an arrow with his internal backing it. And Person B shoots an arrow with the same accuracy, but no inner power. What would happen? When the 2 arrows meet, GJ's arrow would go right through Person B's arrow and continue.

Though inner can't help the accuracy, but it can help in at least the other 2 aspects.

Somehow that doesn't quite gel with physics. The tension in the bow transmitted thru the bowstring accelerates the arrow. If another force (i.e. inner power) is transmitted to the arrow while the bowstring is still transmitting the force to the arrow, it results in inefficiency. (i.e. If the inner force is accelerating the arrow faster then the bowstring, then the bowstring is effectively doing nothing to accelerate the arrow. Vice versa, if the bowstring is accelerating the arrow faster then the inner force, then the inner force is wasted).

The only way to reconcile this with some semblance of physics (remember gravity and newton's laws still exist in wuxia, just that 'additional' laws of wuxia are layered 'on top off, but not erasing' them) is that the inner power is imparted not in an instance but in the form of 'potential energy' which is slowly released. An example will be Xiao Feng's shooting of the pebble (it accelerated after it left Xiao Feng, like the potential energy release of a rocket) or HYS's delivery of the paper sheet (constant speed without slow down due to air resistance due to inner energy released after it has left HYS's hands).

The above might be examples of very high level inner energy control, (the onlookers were shocked by HYS's feat) so the LOCH Guo Jing might not have acheived it yet. In essense, it might be easy to impart inner energy to an object and fling it out, but MUCH HARDER to impart the inner energy in such a way that it is released over time after the object has already left your hands.

But the tension from the bowstring would be stronger because your inner power makes you stronger and pulling it back with more force.

It also depends if it is kinetic or potential energy. If the energy that you are pulling back and storing is potential, then the arrow is going to be on fire. However if it is purely kinetic, then the bow would snap due to the overwhelming force.

the string will only take on certain amount of tension before it snap ... i guess some of us here are thinking in the physics way. it just doesn't make sense where internal force are aid in something such as archery. it's more of a technique/skill thing.

Yeah, I know that. But I'm curious to know why you're telling me all this stuff when I didn't do any of that.

What a weird statement out of the blue.
