The Gong Nam 7 freaks always fought as a team, no matter if they were fighting 1 person or 100. How powerful do you think they would have been if they knew the big dipper formation?

If they had the Big Dipper Formation AND managed to integrate their martial arts into it, THEN they'd definitely be able to beat MCF.
Despite all the times it has appeared to fail, the Big Dipper formation is no laughing matter.
1 Great = Can beat 1 Quanzhen in under 3 blows.
7 Quanzhen in Dipper = Fight on par with 1 great...
You can see how powerful Dipper is....
7 Freaks in Dipper will probably equal to about 30% of a great.
The next question becomes whether or not the Freaks have the requisite talent to master the formation.
If they were still 7 freaks using the big dipper, do you think they could have given LOCH GJ any trouble?

That is the problem of all formations, but the weakest link of the Quanzhen Big Dipper formation is still stronger than the most powerful Quanzhen Elder on his own.
This was true in the matches against HYS, but as demonstrated when GJ stepped, in, 7 equals provide no such weakness. Even if the weakest link were only half as strong as the strongest, the formation wouldn't be as easy to compromise.Originally Posted by Ken Cheng
As for GJ vs the 96 taoists, it was combination of the fact that the taoists were FAR weaker than GJ plus the greater knowledge of the formation that GJ had over them that enabled GJ to dominate.
There was also the time when Fok Do ambushed Sheun But Yee (the weak link in the formation) so that his teacher the Golden Wheel Monk could defeat the five-man formation that the remaining Cheun Jen Sect Elders had developed to counter the Ancient Tomb Sect's martial arts. This weak link problem was one that the Cheun Jen Sect just couldn't seem to work around unless they had someone such as Chow Bak Tung or Gwok Jing to back them up.Originally Posted by ChronoReverse

i think you remember something from the adaption. in ROCH, JLFW never fought against the big dipper formation. in LOCH, HYS was trapped by the big dipper formation when OYF attacked the QZ elder tan(and killed him) and him but mei chaofeng saved HYS with her live. the QZ priest had to retreat after that. in ROCH, the five elders used the seven star union which combined inner power for a mega powerful LDA. but they only struck trice, the first against daerba and huado, the second was nimoxing and the third was XLN. JLFW never actually traded blows with any of the QZ elders.
