when you say today, do you mean 9/11 or September 12th?

It was the 11th in Hong Kong (where Mr. Kwan resided).

Which wuxia character (that he played) made the most impression on you?
Mine: Doctor who sees death, but dont bother to save.
You do know that it is just fiction, dont you?

I thought he was quite memorable as wuxia supervillains such as the Jade Taoist from the third LUK SIU FUNG series and as the super-powerful Mo Yung Bok from DGSD '81.

Notably, both characters were invented or altered from characters in the Gu Long and Jin Yong novels they were derived from. There was no "Jade Taoist" in THE HAUNTED VALLEY volume of the LUK SIU FUNG novel series (the Wooden Taoist served that role), and of course, DGSD's Mo Yung Bok didn't really become a supervillain.

Nevertheless, Kwan Hoi San made those characters memorable.

Outside of wuxia series, I'll never forget Mr. Kwan's performance as Fong Hei Man's (Dodo Cheng's character) father Fong Wai Ho in THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.

Wow this actor.....loved him in all those old series. I remember he was in that series with tony leung chiu wai, the twins.....and he was an old loony but powerful martial arts. Also remember him being Mo Yong Bok in the old DGSD.....most recent series i saw him in was 'the green hope' i think, but thats not wuxia and was really old.....made in late 90's i think. He looked really old and tired in that......r.i.p now...

Actually, that's just a listing of some of the movies he's been featured in; it doesn't even cover the dozens of series he must have appeared in for TVB from the 1970s to the 2000s.
