    i'm just a few hrs away. there are buses there, though one just flipped like last week, so it makes me a little wary.

    i think cost and distance will deter many users from attending..

    a cheap alternative is to hold a chat conference via TeamSpeak or Ventrilo like the online gamers do. anyone with a headset/mic should be able to participate.

    FYI, the Indozone people (we were born here from spcnet, just fellow indonesian) meeting quite often in whatever cities we were. Me in Sydney, Australia for example, and some also in Indonesia, Spore, US. Well, the Sydney and Jakarta are more often than the rest but whenever we have chance to visit different city, we will try to meet together. Either lunch or movie or just chat around in cafe. When we chat around it could takes hours and hours .. he,he,he. It was fun.

    I don't mind going. but I think I vote wrongly, I have to finance to go to NYC. Bummer.

    How many ppl are from NYC here?

    I actually did meet 2 SPC members some yrs ago. Don't talk to them anymore though. Not sure if either still even visit here.

    Primarily because I'm in NYC.

    Thanks for all the feedback, it does look like location and cost will deter most members from attending as I guessed. Having a meeting does sound like fun - my old company was also a community site and every year they would choose a different location in the world to hold a get-together so that whoever can or chooses to attend does.

    Having it online could be interesting but maybe only if folks have webcams and such.

    Anyway, for now, I doubt there will be any meeting, but it's interesting to see how members feel about it.

    an online meeting seems sorta....redundant. since, we're already online! we could easily just talk on aim, yahoo, msn, etc.

    instead of the west or east coast.. why don't we meet in the middle? the midwest ^__^ .. i already know another member from here is from the same state as me.. so why not? anyone located in the midwest?
