Recently I decided to watch "Honey and Clover" just to see how Eddie acted in it (I admitted when I first heard about it years ago, I was disappointed to know that Eddie got to play my favourite character-Morita in the drama). Even though I didn't find the drama anywhere near the manga's level, I quite enjoyed it because it was rather entertaining, Eddie was adorable in here, and the chemistry between Eddie and Janine Chang was just so good that I actually wanted their characters to get together . Another thing is watching this, I can see how much Eddie has improved and matured in his acting, especially his crying skill!!

Don't know if I sound creepy or not but I find it quite amusing when I couldn't see his leg hair at all LOL. I was like "wth" because of his no-hair-and-smooth-legs when I watched Jump! Ashin and Love You You

Sorry that I can't really do much with the "updating news" part for Eddie so I just post his pictures, gifs and vids from his previous dramas and movies.

Some BTS videos of "Jump! Ashin" from the movie's official YT channel. I think xiaolong posted some of these videos before but when I tracked back, the YT channel for those videos already got banned for copyright infringement . So yeah, to describe these videos, I may just quote what xiaolong said when she posted it

But Eddie trained tirelessly for months in a punishing schedule to accomplish the jumps and moves of a real gymnast and convince the producer to let him do as many of his own gymnast shots as possible, even though he has never been trained as a gymnast. Hope they release a BTS video documenting Eddie's tough gymnast training just for this movie.

Yeah, the best thing to do is waiting until the drama is out (which is like a year to go ).

My sassy girl is a drama but from people say, I think the drama won't be aired in China. It's going to be shown in Taiwan only (a channel called Mango - I could be wrong about this!), which is quite sad!!

That's the wonderful charm of Eddie! He can lift what could have been mediocre drama otherwise, to a truly enjoyable one! And he can ignite truly sparkling chemistry with his leading ladies, even a fluffy model-turned-actress like Angelababy in Love You You.

I agree. His way of looking and staring at his co-stars (when I say co-stars, I mean both male and female co-stars lol) really make you feel like he is in love with them.

Oh my, I just found out the reason why Eddie went bald (yes, it was the news 5 months ago but I didn't know until now ). It is because he played the young Yang Luchan in "Tai Chi O", a big budget movie from Huayi Brothers and is directed by Stefen Fung. His co-stars are Feng Shao Feng (oh yes!) and Angela Baby (oh my, xiaolong, I guess we'll need to pray that she would show some improvement). Just when I was wondering what kind of hairstyle that I haven't seen (or might reluctant to see) him in and there it goes the Manchu queue hairstyle. Still excited though cause the movie is going to be shown in America and Canada next year. Oh ho, he is making it big.

(March 19, 2012) -- Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired all North American rights (theatrical, non-theatrical, home video, television, digital/electronic) to Tai Chi O, the first in a planned trilogy of films from Chen Kuofu, the producer of Detective Dee and the Mystery of Phantom Flame. Directed by Stephen Fung with Sammo Hung (Ip Man 2) serving as Action Director, Tai Chi O, stars William Feng, Eddie Peng and Angelababy. The film was acquired from Huayi Brothers Media in a deal negotiated between Leslie Chen on behalf of the company, and Doris Pfardrescher, President of Well Go USA. The film will be released in the US and Canada in early 2013.

We are very pleased to have secured rights to this exciting new film from Huayi Brothers, one of Asias biggest distributors of pop culture hits, said Doris Pfardrescher, President, Well Go USA Entertainment. We believe it will resonate with a wide variety of audiences in North America, from fan boys to moviegoers who love Asian-action films and world cinema.

    Tai Chi O
    Synopsis:

As an uncommonly gifted child, Yang Luchan had a fleshy abnormality that holds tremendous power growing on his forehead. However, being teased as the town fool, Yangs mother spurs him to practice martial arts, and following her wishes, Yang travels to the distant Chen Village to learn TAI CHI. At this legendary village everyone practices TAI CHI and uses TAI CHI in every aspect of their lives. Nevertheless, it is forbidden for a villager to disclose TAI CHI to an outsider, which Yang learns the hard way.

Upon arriving at the village, locals discourage Yang by challenging him with fights. From the strong men to old ladies to children, everyone defeats Yang with their TAI CHI moves. After facing the toughest battle and being defeated by Master Chens beautiful daughter Yuniang, Yang is determined to master the art of TAI CHI and goes in search of Master Chen. Little does Yang know, the poor strange man who he befriended is in fact Master Chen who had saved him from the duel with Yuniang. Master Chen realizes Yangs genius and disguises himself to secretly guide Yang to his self realization of TAI CHI.

One day, a frightening steam-powered machine comes to the village, lead by Fang Zijing, a childhood friend of Yuniang. He has bribed government officials to permit him to build a railway that will run straight through the village. Yang decides to join forces with Yuniang to defeat Fang Zijing and destroy the machine. This brave act may just win him the hearts of the villagers.

I know, I'm looking forward to Tai Chi O too! That's the great thing about Eddie - he makes it a point to own every role he plays. When he plays a role, you know no one else can play it the way he does. Much as I give credit to Feng Shao Feng for doing a good job with Xiang Yu role in White Vengeance, I do think other actors could have done just as good a job (apologies to FSF fangirls). I'm fine about FSF finally making headway the movie world after years of hard work, but frankly now I think he's getting over-rated thanks to the fact that he's Huayi's current blue-eyed boy, so Huayi naturally gives him the Guy1 role over Eddie.

Also note the fact that Eddie never had the backing of a company like Huayi, and was even blacklisted by his former company in Taiwan when he parted ways with them. YET he can make headway in the C-movie world. I'm more inclined to favour artistes who work superbly hard to get where they are without any backing.

Anyway, good luck to FSF. Given Eddie & Angelababy's success with Love You You, I think the audience shipper couple would sure to be Eddie-Angelababy.

Although many people may blame Tang Ren and Karen for their wicked publicity for DMY, I think it is nothing compared to Huayi's publicity for their movies. It's another level. I did some searches this morning for Tai chi O and this is the list of results I find. It's quite entertaining lol

    1) When you put in search box "Eddie Peng + Tai chi O", you have:
    - Eddie Peng heard the news he got nominated for "Best Actor" in Golden Horse Award while he was filming "Tai Chi O".
    - Eddie Peng's old relationship rumour with Jolin Tsai and he was filming "Tai chi O"
    - Eddie Peng and unknown woman were seen together in Bejing while he was there filming "Tai Chi O"
    - One news source said he played the villain in the movie (so he may be Angela Baby's character's childhood friend?)
    - Eddie's fans thought he played the main character: the young Yang Lu Chan
    - Some said with his gymnastics skills, he could be the next Jet Li in Tai Chi movie (what?)

    2) When you put in search box "Feng Shao Feng + Tai Chi O", you have:
    - Yang Mi's future career interview
    - Rumoured relationship between Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng (some included Hawrick Lau) as well as their current and future acting projects. There was like 1 sentence talking about Feng's involvement with "Tai Chi O"
    - Some of Feng's fans thought he was the main guy, they were happy for his success. Then Feng's fans discovered he might not be the main guy but the villain (so how many childhood friends does Angela's character have?), the main guy could be Eddie Peng. They were shocked at first (Feng became the 2nd guy!), said Eddie + Angela = box office failure...after calming down, they thought it would be good for Feng because he could play any role well so this was a refreshing direction to expand his acting career. However, it didn't stop there yet, there was another rumour that Feng was just a guest in the movie. Fans were furious that Huayi used Feng's name and popularity to get people come and watch the movie.

    3) When you put in search box "Tai Chi O + something I can't remember", you have:
    - There could be about 4 different movies this year and next year about Tai Chi!
    - The main character Yang Lu Chan was played by World Wushu Champion Yuan Xiao Cao. He is hoped to be the next wuxia movie star after Jet Li, Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen. There was a snapshot of the casting list and his name was put next to "Yang Lu Chan". Daniel Wu's interview around last June/July said the main guy was someone who won many kungfu competitions (no name was mentioned).
    - It may be out at cinemas later this year.
    - Some thinks it may not do well at box office

Oh my! If the lead guy turns out to be Yuan Xiao Cao, I'll feel very sorry for him because in most the English news sources, only 3 names (Feng Shao Feng, Eddie Peng and Angela Baby) are mentioned and by putting Shao Feng first, everyone would assume that he is the lead guy. Wicked. Wicked!!

As far as I know, it is the ugliest incident in his career. Many people thought that was the end for him in showbiz. There were lots of news going around about this lawsuit.

Eddie Peng's Manager Tolerates 3 Yr Love of Peng & Tsai

    link: http://www.popularasians.com/forum/s...-Peng-amp-Tsai

Eddie Peng and his management company Star Powers contract early termination court case has yet to be resolved, yesterday has broke out again the reasons for Eddie to leave, his dissatisfaction of Star Power against him and Jolin going out, so after the two were forced to break up, he then wanted to terminate his contract earlier, yesterday his manager Liu Wei Ci didnt deny the two going out, she stressed: It is illegal for Eddie right now to take jobs. The twos lawsuit will be meeting in court at the end of Sept.

Management company says since mid 2006 been going out

Eddies fame from Scent of Love, Honey & Clover, Wayward Kenting, has collaborated with the management company for 8 years, but has broke intentions for him to terminate his contract early, since the year before since Sept until today, the two parties have yet to work together, but from understandings, during this time, Eddie has accepted at least 4 spokesperson jobs, but the management company didnt know of anything, so they file a lawsuit for court.

It is reported that the reason for the break up between Eddie and his management company is mainly because since these 3 years, the company is forbidding him and Jolin for going out, the management said, the two since mid 2006 had been going out, the two at the end had to break up, because of this Eddie was really upset, so since last Sept he angrily sent out in advance a letter for contract termination.

Eddie in love, management: kept in the dark unknown

Yesterday Liu Wi Ci didnt deny Eddie and Jolin went out for 3 years, she said: He (Eddie)s love life, Im usually unaware of. Liu Wei Ci said, its Eddie thats stopping his career, He says that the company didnt help him get activities, but during this period of him trying to terminate his contract, he actually was able to earn $3 million; including filming, spokesperson activities, its him that doesnt want it. She said she and Eddie has not resolved the contract relationship yet, all personal acceptance of jobs is an illegal offense of the contract.

Jolins manager Jiang Jin says, as for manager Liu and Mr. Pengs situation, we outsiders is not convenient to make any expression of this matter.

False Punishment Unfounded; Eddie Peng makes an appearance today
    Source: UDN
    Translated by: HAZEL @ asianfanatics.net

The contract scandal between Eddie Peng and his management company 星势力 (Star Alliance?) has reached another high point: after a second in-court settlement , the Court ruled this week that the fake punishment did not stand. Eddie Peng appeared today as a special guest for the opening of Etude House's flagship store in Taipei, and his Star Alliance manager Lin Ching-yu commented that they had already kindly reminded (Etude House) that we are still in the middle of processing Eddie's contract, so do make a correct decision. He also expressed to a desire to wait for something to happen first before saying anything, an indication that Star Alliance might take further action.

The executive in charge of the Etude House event claimed that they had gotten in contact with Avex Records, so they had managed to invite Eddie through Avex instead of Star Alliance. She also stated that everyone was very excited about Eddie's appearance, as he fitted the bill of a flower boy perfectly and also because he had not appeared in a public event for a long time. They also denied any knowledge of Eddie's contract issue.

Eddie's relationship with his manager of many years, Liu Wei-tsi had deteriorated over the years, and one of the many reasons rumoured to be was because she had vehemently objected to his relationship with Jolin Tsai. When contacted yesterday, Liu Wei-tsi's phone was picked up by Lin Ching-yu instead, who stated that Jolin's issue wasn't the only reason, the reason why (the company) is so low-profile over the whole contract is to protect him.

Eddie's contract with Star Alliance expires only in 2010, but he had the thought of not renewing his contract already late last year. Because of this, it is widely believed that he was put in the freezer and neglected, and most of the jobs that came knocking were declined. Eddie's lawyer stated yesterday that Star Alliance wanted to renew its contract with him last year, but he had issued a letter declining to do so, reasons being that he was not satisfied with what Star Alliance was doing for him, and he did not receive what he had expected to in terms of his pay. Star Alliance then sued him for false punishment, but the court rejected it once. Star Alliance then reapplied for another chance, but it got rejected once more.

Eddie's lawyer also said that he had asked Eddie to be present for both in-court settlements, but Star Alliance always only sent its lawyer, so it was hard for many things to be settled, for they could not meet any Star Alliance employees face-to-face. He also stated that if Star Alliance wants to forcibly carry out the contract, they will then request for them to top up the promised income amount to Eddie.

Contractual issues between Taiwanese pop idol Eddie Peng and his manager brought the duo to court. Despite being in court twice, they were unable to reach any consensus.

His manager said, "I will stop, at all costs, anyone who tries to ignore the rules and regulations of showbiz."

According to reports, Peng's contract was supposed to end only in July 2010 but he has not received any assignments for a long time. His manager had plans to extend Peng's contract, but the latter has been delaying his reply by saying that it is still a long way to end of the contract. The duo later found themselves amidst disagreements in terms of both assignments and income.

It was rumoured that Peng is disgruntled that the company has not been able to achieve the amount of income he has been promised, sparking off this court case.

The manager said, "He claimed to be a movie actor and declined to take on 'low-class' jobs. Can he blame me? Eddie, I've never done you wrong. You need to understand that you need luck to get famous."

The TV drama Wayward Kenting raised his popularity which was also fanned by rumours of his relationship with Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai.

Eddie Peng: Never said "Will not act for the China people to see"

Eddie Peng and his old management company "Star's Power"'s legal lawsuit over his contract is getting more and more intense. Earlier on, Chen Qi Ming, the person in charge of his management matters, stepped out in court last week to state that he helped Eddie took on a China CCTV drama "Hong Kong Sisters (香港姐妹)" in 2007. A week before filming began though, Eddie insisted on dropping out and even said "I will not act for the China people to see!"
Yesterday, Eddie expressed through his lawyer that he never said such a thing before and he will be filing a lawsuit against Chen Qi Ming. It is known that the statement of "I will not act for the China people to see!" shows discrimination against China and will greatly affect Eddie's China development. Thus, there is a need for him to clarify this or he'll be blocked by China.

Liu Wei Ci: Sarcastically criticise male lead

Chen Qi Ming said on court that in 2007, Star's Power's employee Liu Wei Ci helped Eddie to accept a CCTV drama and this deal followed Eddie's wishes on when filming will take place, when the drama will air and also, a male lead role. In the end though, Eddie decided not to act. Liu Wei Ci said sarcastically yesterday "Every contact leaves a trace. To want to remove that trace is understandable but you can't lie in court can you?!"

Discussed for nearly a month but no contract signed

Liu Wei Ci expressed that they had nearly a month of discussion with CCTV and Eddie even went to Hong Kong to meet with the workers from CCTV to have a discussion. The contract was already agreed upon but in the end, it wasn't signed. "He said he didn't want to act anymore. We could only tell them that there isn't an available schedule. The next day, he went England and soon after, the rumor with Jolin Tsai came out." There is another rumor going around that Liu Wei Ci is demanding a NT$ 50 million compensation fee from Eddie. She answered that "He probably doesn't have that money. Its not money that I want. Its about being reasonable and ethical."

Filmed 2 China drama in 2004

Chen Qi Ming's declaration of Eddie saying "I will not act for the China people to see!" has been supported by witnesses from Star's Power so far, and thus, the reliability is rather weak. Eddie yesterday expressed that he's feeling very angry and down about being "blacken" by his old company in this manner. Thus, through his lawer Hsu Ze Yu, he expressed that he has accepted China dramas such as "Chinese Paladin" and "Shao Nian Yang Jia Jiang" in 2004. How can he be objecting to going to China to film then?
As for Liu Wei Ci's accusation of him having signed a singing contract with Avex, Avex said yesterday that they've helped him but no contract has been signed yet.

Eddie Peng announces his freedom; Star Power: Judge has final say

Eddie Peng & Star Power manager Liu Wei Ci's contract dispute has caused many probable collaborations to fall through. Yesterday, Eddie's lawyer Xu Zhe Yu held a press conference, and jumped out to announce that their contract has been officially terminated. Towards this, Star Power did not wish to make a reply, insisting that proceedings have not yet been finalised and the judge will have the final say.

Yesterday, Eddie stressed that this contract dispute has not only troubled him, but also his family and friends. He had not received any work for the first half of this year and he expressed helplessly: But I'm still alive. He also added that he is still grateful to Manager Liu and thanked her for her training. But his lawyer was not as kind and already called her "ex-manager", also adding that their contract had actually terminated last year in November. Another management company Avex also attended the press con, and expressed their interest in working with Eddie, but they stressed that they have not officially signed anything yet. Towards this, Star Power expressed that the media is trying to mislead the public; the real truth will be revealed in court.

Eddie won his case against his agent

United Daily News reported on Jan. 21 that the Taipei District Court had ruled in favor of Eddie in his dispute with his former agent. Although Liu Wei-tzu said she's going to file an appeal, I think it's still a good thing that Eddie won this round.

The ruling said that based on the contract, Eddie's agent guaranteed that Eddie would get an income NT$4 million per year. If earnings that year were below the promised guarantee, Eddie's agent is required to make up the gap (she has to pay Eddie the difference).

The news also said Liu cried out of anger, saying Eddie's income fell short because he rejected several projects. But the court said there's nothing in the contract that says Eddie has no right to turn down projects that he didn't like.

Eddie said since the court has ruled that he didn't break his contract, could the media please stop calling him an "ingrate" from now on?

Even after he won the court case already

Eddie Peng denies being a big shot idol

    link: http://www.cpopaccess.com/2010/02/ed...shot-idol.html

Eddie Peng is rumored to be the source of inspiration for a character in the new drama Because of You. The character Fang Zi Hao, played by Lego Li, is a difficult idol star with a prima donnas personality. Eddie Pengs former manager Liu Wei-Ci is the producer of this drama, and the character was said to have been modeled after her former pupil.

Eddie Peng attended his first event after wining the contract dispute lawsuit against his former manager. In response to the rumors, he said, Big star? For sure its not me. Im a small actor trying to make a living in showbiz. He added that he was grateful to be able to work again after the lawsuit ended. Eddie Peng was asked if he had seen Because of You, which started airing on two weeks ago. He responded with the question, When does it air? He explained that he has been busy filming the new movie Jin Zai Zhi Chi and hast had time to watch TV yet.

CK Watches & Jewelery presented Eddie Peng with a pair of watches as a gift. He said, There is no one to give it to. (Ill) give it to my sister! He is not worried that he doesnt get to meet new friends from the opposite sex, and said, My mom and sister often introduce me to nice girls.

Yes, I was following the case pretty closely. That's why he's the one popular movie idol star whom I have great respect for. It's already hard for majority of TV actors to break into the movie scene, much less someone involved in a drawn out expensive lawsuit with a powerful company determined to blacklist him out of the entertainment industry. I'd say he had a much tougher time than even Wallace Chung and Yang Mi (both of whom also had disputes with management/productions companies), and yet he's now way ahead in the movie industry.

    Tomorrow is Eddie's birthday
Eddie's crying appreciation post. I think his best crying scenes are most in Jump! Ashin. The part he was in the hospital bed with all the sad memories came back to him and made him break down (

His crying scene in The Concerto. He played a self-centred, arrogant and cold "prince" who fell in love with this poor, lively and earnest girl (urg, idol dramas and their character descriptions are just ridiculous). Eddie's character was supposed to be the main but died in ep 7 (he was pulled out of the drama due to the dispute between him and his management company at that time). There are two things that I find myself remember after fast forwarding the series: 1) Eddie's character is different from what he played before (and may have some similarities with his potray of HQB) 2)Eddie's mother in the drama is really SICK.
