Default Did 9 Ying improve WCY's internal or external arts?

Which do you think? Perhaps both? We know he couldn't break Jade Maiden until he read 9 Ying, which suggests that he did improve in the external arts. However, there doesn't seem to be any evidence to show that 9 Ying was internally any better than Xian Tian Gong. Obviously, there are parts of internal 9 Ying that is better than XTG, such as being able to recover damaged internal in months instead of years. However, could Xian Tian Gong be equal to 9 Ying in internal cultivation alone?

In real life? I got no idea.

    In novels? Which one?

In the JY world, Sweeper seems to be number 1.

In the 四大奇书, again we see all the Taoist Entities failing to stop Sun Wukong till Rulai told them to hold his beer.

Seems like in the major works where its Taoist vs Buddhist, the Buddhist aspect seems to be the ultimate.

Not sure about the strongest, but the top Buddhist martial arts are surely the hardest to practice.
