Default OT: Do we need a moratorium on the "SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan" running joke?

I'm leaving it to the community to vote on what to do and adopt it voluntarily (rather than try to ram it down the community's throat via mod fiat). Personally speaking, I'd rather not hear about SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan ever again (at least not for a long, long, long time).

Its not a joke. We pointed out _facts_ from the novel to support SWORD GOD Zhuo Bufan's feats in

    1. Long Distance Voice Transmission

    2. Throwing Objects Across Mountains ability

    3. Ability to emit sword nimbus

    4. Killing speed and accuracy and placement of sword

These were _not_ made up by me and PJ! We might have done it in a tongue-in-cheek way but hey! Lets lighthen up from the usual heated YG vs GJ flame wars!

I wonder what would have happened had KC put his name in for the very first (Swordsmen) Survivor Game...

Keep him. No harm, and as CC said, they have been actively translating parts of TLBB which include him and the others.

To be fair, Ken. Their Sword God Zuo BuFan fandom is like your Shi Po Tian didn't jump over any ocean thing.

So maybe it is time for them to just show their fandom in their signature only like you have your "Shi Po Tian didn't jump over any ocean" in your signature only.

Maybe not an absolute moratorium, but at least cut back the excess. Quite a few references to him have been completely gratuitous.

I don't dislike the character. I barely even know the character. The way that some have been carrying on about him, however, has turned him into a joke...a tired, old joke.

Absolutely. We had our fun with Sek Por Tin, but notice that we dropped it (other than the signatures) after we were done with it. There comes a point where you just need to draw a line and say, "OK. Enough's enough."

I'm not trying to antagonize or touch any sensitive areas here but I do see a evident parallel with your "Enough is enough" and Dennis Chen's "Enough is enough" towards your Shi Po Tian. Despite whether you agree with me or not, its ironic that it has come to a full circle. Having experience someone else say its "enough", we'd have a understanding with the past and current situation here. And I believe we've reached a conclusion that too much of something becomes excessive and so the key idea is everything in moderation.

Heheh Currently writing an essay so when I'm in this mode, I kind of enjoy making comparisons. Haha...Ah, Writing is so beautiful when you're inspired! Well, off to finish three more pages to complete the essay.

That's exactly what makes him so mysterious, and why he is currently the #1 champion in the MYSTERIOUS PERSONALITIES survivor game.

This is the kind of excess I'm talking about.

It's OK to talk about Zhuo Bufan at this forum.

It's OK to make jokes about Zhuo Bufan at this forum as well.

But do we REALLY need to have the SAME joke about Zhuo Bufan told over and over and over again?

the alternative method of telling him/her that he/she mispelled ZHUO Bufan's name would be to tell him/her straight-up. Since that's not necessarily the most polite way to do it, AND this mispelling of ZHUO Bufan's name is too common on this forum so I wanted to make sure everyone is aware, I chose the humorous route of communicating the same concept.

I have a serious question for you guys about Zhuo Bufan:

Was he related in any way to Tzor Tze Muk of the Eastern Mo Leung Sword Sect?
