My first Japanese actor thread! Takashi can look badass with one smirk and yet totally sweet and sincere with a dimple-revealing smile. I like his acting in Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and would definitely like to see more of it. I've also heard his "New Morning" single and it's quite nice.

Does anyone know what movie/show these pics are from? They're quite provocative.

What have you watched him in? Got any recommendations? So far I've only seen Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. He's so cute in there. I especially love it when he smiles...

He's in stand up..not a major role..supposedly some sex god since the show is similar to an American Pie.

I heard Stand Up is really good. Did you enjoy it? Hmm, so Takashi plays a character like Stifler in there?

Has anyone seen the controversial film Battle Royale? I've always been interested in watching it to see what all the hype was about.

I have not actually seen Stand up before but from what I heard, the show is quite explicit and centers a lot on being deflowered. Its not R-rated stuff just that the context revolves around sex, thus might not be suitable for younger viewers. Essentially, I think its about the growing up of 4 classmates played by Ninomiya Kazunari, Yamashita Tomohisa, this other guy I that I do not know his name but heard that he was hilarious in the show and the last guy played by the actor above pictured with Takashi. I heard that its very funny and poignant to some extent since it deals with the growing up of four 17 year olds which is the centre theme of the story. I personally think its should be worth a watch but personal taste varies.

I have never heard of Battle Royal...but I think I will go find out more. Is it a Hollywood or Japanese film?

btw, Japanese threads take a while to catch on here from what I observed....

Oh, I figured you'd already watched it for Yamashita Tomohisa. It sounds interesting to me too.

By "the actor above pictured with Takashi", do you mean in the apparently gay pics?

It's a Japanese film from 2000. Here are a couple of links:

I noticed that too, but in the grand scheme of things, there are really only a handful of actors whose threads get posted in regularly here. For discussion and feedback on Japanese actors, it's best to go to jdorama.com. Takashi's thread is 18 pages over there although it's been very inactive for awhile.

I now have so many Japanese series I want to watch lined up in my head that I'm starting to lose track. Stand Up is one of them. First I need to finish Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and then watch Kurusagi, then One Liter of Tears, Gokusen, etc. Too bad Takashi's not in any of the latter three, though. If you have any recommendations, please share.

I think I have watch Nobuta to the Point of saturation but I think you can give that a shot as well if you have not seen it before. As for Takashi serials, my sister saw Cat's eye and I can see her laughing quite a bit. I don't seemed to understand the show though.

I came across this pic of Takashi in Stand Up:

It seems like a funny scene.

Nope, I haven't seen Nobuta yet. I'm still a fresh impressionable newbie when it comes to Japanese series as I've only seen 4 so far (unless you count Trick 1, 2, and 3 as separate series, in which case I've seen 6). I'll add it to my list. Have you seen Tiger and Dragon? I heard it's a great comedy.

Oh, I just realized Takashi is in Gokusen, but only for one episode.

Happy birthday to Takashi! He's 24 now!

I will give Nobuta a shot. Right now I've just started on Kurosagi.

Tiger & Dragon is a serial.

I'm going to try and watch Battle Royale today.

Takashi kind of looks like a young Keanu Reeves in there.

yes, i agree with you. He does look like a young Keanu Reeves in there, same hair and for some reason, just resembles him.

I was thinking, since you have finished Team medical dragon, you may also want to watch the white tower, which i thought was a good show as well.

I watched Battle Royale. The concept is highly disturbing, but I enjoyed the film. It would have been even more disturbing had the killings been more realistic rather than like in the Scream films where being riddled with bullets just stains your shirt red. Takashi didn't have as much screentime as I'd hoped, but he was in a supporting role. Too bad about Mimura...

    Takashi's New Morning MV:

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=fY96G9bo2Ok

It's not what I imagined when I listened to the song. I don't understand any of the words, but the MV seems more solemn and less hopeful. I also like the other 2 songs on the album.

About White Tower, I read the comparisons you made to Iryu. I'll try to watch it eventually.

Oh my, I can't quite believe that Tsukamoto Takashi was that weird guy in Stand Up! His character was truly wrong in SU, he looks so so different now, which is a good thing.
