How did the Four Great Evils first hook up?

Was it ever described how the Four Great Evils from DEMIGODS & SEMIDEVILS first got together and became a team? All four of them were anti-social loners, and none seemed to be a good team player. Yet somehow, this gang of four wulin misfits became a fairly tight team...almost a kind of dysfunctional, but unified family. How did they come together?

I always thought their affiliation with Hsi Hsia Kingdom didn't begin until after Deun Yin Hing's failed bid to get Deun Yu and Muk Yeun Ching to commit "incest."

they were pretty infamous before that in the martial world but they had disappeared sort of from the central plains and the south for a while. possibly in the west hidding out. but killer croc did say they hadden seen each other for about ten yrs, so maybe the xixia thing happened after. but there was no mention of how they joined in the novel, i belive.
