I can't believe he was the one chosen. Ugh! He does not deserve the title, thank goodness he doesn't keep it for too long.

Hahaha, GJ is so naive. This is one of his Homer Simpson-like moments. But I love this segment. Thanks for translating guys.

    Thanks foxs.

The story is really getting intersting.
Who will save GJ and HR ?
Will they themselves be able to save each other or a third person will step in ?

    NEVER BEFORE SEEN SEGMENT

Guo Jing whispered to Huang Rong, "Rong-er, I have a secret to tell you." Huang Rong wondered quietly, "What could Jing Ge-ge be up to at such a moment?" Guo Jing mumbled something inaudible. Huang Rong asked, "What?" Guo Jing suddenly shouted:

    HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

Huang Rong giggled and thought, "My Jing Ge-ge is so cute."

Happy new year, Icyfox, and people!

Gee. Qiu Qian Ren suddenly looked strong. Could it be that the Beggar Clan are that weak or did he suddenly acquire some powerful martial arts? Or were all of them in this together?!

Happy Chinese New Year to all.

How is it that YK shook hand with QQR? I thought back then they just sort of bow to each other. Is it customary back then to shake hands as well? Or is this on oversight by JY in which he applied modern custom to a wuxia story?

Xin Nian Hao! Go easy on the dumplings though.
[Really I'm drooling and green with envy.]

Maybe they just clasped hands rather than shaking hands.

Ahem! Dumplings are meant for the Dragon Boat Festival.

    During CNY we eat oranges.

My friend Shan, in Calgary, told me she's have guests over tomorrow and dumplings are on the menu.

If she wants to eat them during CNY, she can go ahead. I can't call the cops, you know.

    As a final 'nyaah!'

'Many traditional dishes include ingredients that hold important meaning. Plan your Chinese New Year menu to incorporate these most auspicious foods.

    Dumplings: Wealth
    Lettuce: Prosperity
    Noodles: Longevity
    Oysters: Receptivity to good fortune
    Seaweed: Good luck
    Whole Fish: Abundance, togetherness

In the north, steamed-wheat bread (man tou) and small meat dumplings were the preferred food. The tremendous amount of food prepared at this time was meant to symbolize abundance and wealth for the household.
In northern China, families spend the night before Chinese New Year preparing dumplings, to enjoy after midnight. Serve with Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce.'

Childish of me I know but it's all in fun.

Happy New Year everyone! I know that for some of you (maybe most), the New Year's Day is almost over, but it is still early New Year's Day in the US.

How is it that YK shook hand with QQR? I thought back then they just sort of bow to each other. Is it customary back then to shake hands as well? Or is this on oversight by JY in which he applied modern custom to a wuxia story?
Picky, picky, picky ... Just kidding.

The original character was ( 握 ) Wo4 – shake hands/to hold/to grasp. I thought translating it into 'holding hands' or 'grasping hands' as a greeting would be weird, so I decided on 'shaking hands'. If it was a mistake, then I apologize.

Tazzy, I haven't seen your avatar for a long time.

Edited: I can't make the chinese character appears. I checked my language setting and it is correct. Can anybody help me here? I will need to be able to show chinese characters in Chapter 30.

Edited - part 2: Wow! It worked! Thanks, Icy!

Easy. Put spaces between the braket notations - ( 握 ) - and you're done.

Yang Kang the traitor, I hate him to the bone.
Hope HR n GJ will find a way to unmask him soon.

Many thanks for the translation and Happy lunar new year, Translators and Editors.
Yang Guo & Zhou Botong said in Chapters 6, 11 & 25 of ROCH:
    - 这道姑也算得美了,只是还不及桃花岛郭伯母,更加不及我姑姑。
    - 原来郭伯母竟是这般美貌,小时候我却不觉得。
    - 龙姑娘,我瞧你品貌才智,和那小黄蓉不相上下,武功也跟她差不离。
