I didn't pay very close attention to the narration but I know Tamaki was told to strip naked and that guy he was sharing the blanket with said "Let me see!" to a very sheepish looking Tamaki. And the last comment I heard was "It's smaller than thought!"

ha ha ha, thanks for the translation jade. It surely reveals the truth he can't deny. The last comment is kind of TMI but is still utterly amusing. I wonder where the heck he was in that clip. It seems that this was possibly after the time he did the Pocari Sweat CM. There was a heart shape on his bozu hair (which was the part he didn't shave off in the CM.)

I thought the same thing too!!! Will he age well??? His wrinkles look like Abe Hiroshi's at 40+. I don't even think Eguchi Yosuke has that many.

I agree Abe Hiroshi does age very well along with Eguchi Yosuke. Tamaki is a wreck even now. (I feel like bashing him.) Still nice smile though.

I thought the outfit Takenaka wore was a little too ridiculous looking so I didn't like it at all. It wasn't as bad as the other guy wearing the net tank top with holes in it but he was funny though. The old man from Yakusha Damashii wore the best looking outfit. He looked ultra cool with the whole get-up (which I thought suited his image so well.) Thanks for the caps as usual. I might put up one for the guy in the tank top and the other older man if I find the file. Have no idea where I archived it.

Gee, Kara, are you in love? You know...watching Jdramas the guys are always so slim or incredibly skinny. But when you watch k-dramas, the guys tend to be muscular and well show signs that they actually visit the gym and exercise. The difference is manliness. But okay. The main guy is cute. .....

I've watched episode one of the jdrama last night from another source. Heheh. It was enjoyable. Umm...the way Eto sensei slapped Chiaki with the fan and Chiaki's face sorta stretched...eh that scene was anime-like. There were several other scenes they purposely make it look anime like which in live action looks weird.

My impression of Nodame is well....I don't know flaky? It was funny how Chiaki forced shampoo her hair and cleaned her house and it return to its original state after a few days. Chiaki is such a neatfreak that he HAD to clean the house. But I think Chiaki is fond of Nodame since he's willing to cook for her for some odd reason. The last part where Nodame said "Looking at your back my heart beats(doki doki)" hahah doki doki...I've only seen that in mangas. But that was awkwardly cute....he's like NO NO NO....but I'd like to see how they eventually become a couple.

Someone uploaded up to ep 2 on Youtube. You just have to search for Tamaki Hiroshi or Ueno Juri and do a date added. If you want to watch the whole thing crunchyroll is probably a better source. However I don't know if they have the subbed version.

NC is eccentric comparing to dramas viewers who are used to watching conventional type of plots and acting. Comparing to a regular Kdrama or Cdrama, it's definitely out of this world. Comparing to a regular Jdrama, it's pretty much on normal scale. I did find it overly silly when I saw the CM but after watching the first ep I really liked it. Though the acting was different and somewhat wacky everything was done very well and the flow was very fitting so I didn't find anything awkward about it. NC has many positives: abundant in eye candies, loveable characters, effective acting that create impact, great music, chemistry between characters, precious expressions, and hilarious comedy. There are very few dramas that have all factors consistently done well and this is certainly one of them. As for ep 1, there were many highlights:

-When Chiaki was hit with Eto's fan, his face stretched and his eyes rolled.
-Chiaki was awe looking through the door when Nodame was playing piano.
-Saiko reminded Chiaki of his fear demonstrating complete with toy plain and emphasized by Chiaki's "eeeeh".
-Nodame saw Chiaki drunk. She blew on his ear and he felt wind in his field of dream.
-Chiaki woke up in Nodame's room, dreamily hearing the piano playing echoing within the mountain of garbage. He came to reality when the bugs started flying. Nodame turned around with the half perverted face and hand gesture, "Chiaki senpai" as she finally remember who he was. He ran out of there back to his room to take a shower. He recalled Nodame's "Do you remember last night?" with her very perverted face. Chiaki's "I don't remember" echoed through the building. (That was golden.)
-Nodame chased Chiaki around campus with his belt.
-Chiaki cleaned up Nodame's room. She cooked for him then he cooked for her. She was so impressed and commented how good his food was. Chiaki looked embrassed and promised to cook yummier food for her.
-The students told Masumi that a old perverted old man was roaming around. Masumi suggested that he must be stalking Chiaki but the other students said it was Masumi himself stalking Chiaki. Masumi retaliate by saying he was just looking at Chiaki from afar. (Masumi's expression was right on.)
-Strezeman asked Nodame for direction with wrong Japanese "the road where Taxi passes." He tempted her with food and Nodame was doing this wiping drool gesture. Nodame took him to Chiaki's place where Chiaki prepared this French feast for them. Strezeman acted like it has his place and Chiaki yelled at them both. Strezeman wanted to tempt Nodame into going with him with food. To spite Strezeman (or maybe not letting Nodame following some strange man), Chiaki claimed that he also possessed "fluffy bed and fluffy arm pillows"in his room. Then Chiaki found Nodame in pajama in his bed calling him affectionately by his first name "Shinichi! Nyahh!" just to have him dragging her out. (I thought this was hilarious.)
-Nodame successfully completed the sonata and Chiaki washed her hair.
-The way Chiaki looked at Nodame as she tried to memorize the notes before they perform.
-The performed the sonata and Chiaki revealed that he already knew her habits.
-Nodame "falling in lovu?" then trying to kiss Chiaki.

I have to agree that comparing to Korean actors, Tamaki Hiroshi is no macho man. In fact I don't really see many Japanese actors with the kind of buff/muscular body that some Korean actors possess. It could be that Korean actors are more vain. Though I adore a few Korean actors, I'm rather inclined on the Japanese males in my harem. There are more beautiful faces and they're not overly muscular (just the say I like em' ) As for Hiroshi, though his chest is not buff (like someone who has gone to routine exercises) but he does have a broad chest (from what I've seen in Waterboys and some other pics) and I do find that quite manly.

Suet Seung: Yes. I am madly in love with Tamaki after Nodame. Especially when i watched a bistro smap episode with him in it. In real life he is such a sweet guy. He's so patient and nice. But i think he looks much more handsome when he doesn't smile. There are better looking guys than Tamaki, but i think he is quite charming. I agree Koreans are more buff but i think japan is catching on. Or at least 1 guy is. Yamashita Tomohisa (Yamapi) is quite buff and he has a pretty boy face and i love him too. Another i guy i totally love is Oguri Shun (Rui in HYD). Mainly because he is such an awesome actor and in real life (by that i mean variety shows) he has a very likable personality.

Grifis: Yeah, That last part where she tried to kiss him. OMG! I was like...she must be very bold or just don't know better I mean...she acts on an impulse. She's not very shy about expressing her feelings at all is she?

I love the piano music, I'd have to take lessons from childhood to be as good as Chiaki and well I could only wish I had the same ability like Nodame to be able to hear the music once or twice and be able to play the song. I wish I had her skill. That would be so cool.

Kara: Yeah, I love Yamapi too! He's cute! Loved him in Kurosagi and Nobuta No Produce. You like Oguri Shun? Heheh I guess he's okay but I liked Matsumoto Jun more, I like his Domyoji Tsukasa, hehe well Domyoji is my fave HYD male character in the manga. Jun did well in the role although he isn't as buff or tall as the role calls for it.

Chiaki seems to be growing fond of Nodame.
-He tells her that they can play (piano) together anytime.
But in Episode 2, when she lunge towards him, he actually pushes her, thus making her hit the huge rock. And then in the piano room he hits/punch her. Uh...isn't that extreme?

But he ends up buying two fishes and getting jealous because he sees her with the rocker guy. And kind of gets back at her when Saiko comes to visit.

As for Nodame, she's not exactly your average girl. Chiaki does recognize that she's perverted (which is a higher level of weirdness.) So her action of going after him trying to kiss him is rather natural being the person that she is. Her wish of being able to kiss him soon will be fulfilled. So persistent that Nodame is.

jade, Q when you have a chance. Does "iitoshi" a correct word and means something?
