Oh, he's playing the wimpy Emperor Li Zhi who's always bossed around by his wife, Empress Wu Ze Tian (to be played by Ruby Lin). So he's switching from "hot bad boy" roles to "wimpy nerd" roles in period dramas, hahaha!

In Chang Ge Xing, Yuan Hong is playing the role of the strong, handsome and intellectual Emperor. Also, Yuan Hong's role in this Chinese drama is much better and stronger than this "wimpy nerd" role. As a Chinese Asian person, you should not be trying to make trouble about this great and fantastic Chinese drama in 2014. Xiaolong, if you want to badmouth his amazing role as Emperor Liu Xiu, you Xiaolong should do that with some of your friends outside of spcnet.tv .

This emperor is not always getting bossed by his wife, Yin Li Hua (Empress Wu Ze Tian) in the new upcoming period drama. In your "Xiaolong" username posting , that is not correct that you make trouble to indicate, "he's playing the wimpy Emperor Li Zhi who's always bossed around by his wife". You should know that in this Chinese drama, his wife (played by Ruby Lin) has good martial arts skills, does amazing things and risks her life numerous times in order to both rescue her husband (who was a farmer) from attackers, and to help him become the strong and successful emperor . In return, Liu Xiu tries to reward the wife he loves, Yin Li Hua and then get her to become the Empress.

Ruby Lin and Yuan Hong make a really good couple in this Chinese drama, Xiu Li Jiang ShanChang Ge Xing. Ruby Lin and Yuan Hong are an excellent and perfect match for onscreen pairing in this 2014 Chinese drama.

Liu Xiu's wife and various followers in the Han dynasty value Liu Xiu's role and future potential and want to protect his pathway to becoming Emperor, want him to escape unscathed from any attackers or rebels, and Yuan's role is a good role, not wimpy.

Although medium (average) height for men is perfectly medium, not tall, not short, taller than many, Yuan Hong is a tall man, a taller man with a strong (but not too strong) male acting voice. Yuan is energetic looking, his face is not tired looking and he is definitely not like an actual "wimpy Emperor". Also, men are generally supposed to be significantly taller than women who are medium (average) height for women. It would be important to note men are mostly much stronger or often stronger than women and in this period drama, his wife comes across as stronger in in martial arts kung fu but that definitely does NOT mean that his role is (not) wimpy.

In the trailer for Chang Ge Xing, I like how Ruby Lin and Yuan Hong were paired together. I would have chose Yuan Hong to play the role of the emperor in Chang Ge Xing. Also, Yuan Hong does indeed have good on-screen chemistry with Ruby Lin in this Chinese drama. Ruby Lin is very graceful, smooth and very good in acting as his wife who later becomes his empress.

Xiaolong, you should note that Chinese fans are lucky that they did not choose a Chinese actor who is wimpy in real life to play this so-called wimpy role, which is actually a strong and amazing role as the Emperor.
