Aww well I guess if he's happy with it it's a good thing. And being a pro swimmer is a whole lot of work and a huge commitment.

But if Phelps is competing in Beijing 2008 I am so going to be there.

It's nice watching him do butterfly. And he is good-looking. That automatically earns him brownie points. But his drunk driving doesn't help his pristine image...

ignore kiat85...its like comparing apples and oranges when athletes are of different age and peaked at different time.

my original comment about overrated Phelps was directed at Sparky but someone decided to cut in

The race of the century - Athens 2004 - Mens 200m freestyle.

    1. Ian Thorpe
    2. Pieter van den Hoogenband
    3. Michael Phelps

Well the 200m freestyle race is not Phelps' expertise. He won six golds at Athens.

However, Ian Thorpe is an amazing swimmer and just because I overrate Phelps doesn't mean I'm underrating him. He's a shark at freestyle.

Of course. Men in speedos. It makes it hard to concentrate on the other aspects of the race. Apparently he had the nicest abs out of the people at Athens.

yaya for butterfly, the 1st few strokes would be a breeze, you would feel like as if ur flying. But after a while, ur hands would feel like tonnes of weight and pulling you down as you swing out of the water.
