is it me or the ending was kind of odd? i mean, i sacrified my one hour and a half of bedtime to finish the series, and then the ending was somewhat dissapointing.

I agree with you, the ending was totally disappointing! It wasn't worth watching at all. And I felt greatly disturbed by this entire series. Was it just me or did anyone else find it odd that they just weren't able to locate Amy? That was quite sad. And I really don't think that by making Hawick suddenly come down with an incurable illness makes up for all the horrible things he did.

The Viet title for this series is Luat Phap Va Dao Nghia.

I finished the series last weekend and cried terribly at the last episode (hospital scene between hao yi and her son).

I thought the series is quite worth watching. I did enjoy it and didn't do too much fast forwarding.

Good story ... BUT ... very very bad ending. AND because of this ending it makes the show suck

What I hate the most is that Patrick does find the Box Amy is put in but still end of series we do not know what happens to her or whether she is alive or dead.

After all that Amy & Patrick goes through it does not show them together in a happy ending.
I kind of like the ending not because it is the result I was looking for but it kind of conclude the theme of the series... that even good people have bad things happen to them.

I might get burn for this but I thought Hawick was just average in this series and I think he got a really good script. The dialogue and the story line made him an evil person and the role could easily switch from Patrick and him and it would yield the same result.

That is just my 2 cents

Sorry I only managed to catch the middle of this series so I'm asking for spoilers. What happened at the end? Did Amy disappear?

Hawick ordered some gangster to kidnapp amy, they locked her up in a shipping container
2 years later, patrick still hasn't find her and is still looking for her
it's obviously that amy died horribly in the shipping container and that they will never find her body

What happened to Patrick Tam's sister in the end? Did she remained insane or she died?

I'm still watching it, but the prologue seemed to imply she died.

Zhixin will die too? How can anyone still forgive Huihuang for what he had done?

Is watching it now, when Chris is visiting Zhijing on a regular basis.

So he's actually serious about her?

    Yes, Chris actually loved Zhijing.

I managed to watch a couple of the later episodes from Tudou.

Chris and Zhijing have a bad ending, courtesy of the sadistic scriptwriter. Poor Zhijing, she just couldn't get a break. Huihuang used her to kill Chris as part of his plan to take over the Haitao company, causing her to become insane again.

Oh yes, I got that from the prologue and the next episode preview. So nasty of Huihuang. That Yilin thing was super scary too. I was so freaked out at her ending.

it's not a bad show though incredibly melodramatic with such tragic endings for everyone. HK serials are very fast-paced that's what I like.

anyone thought it resembled this other ATV drama from years ago called "zhong heng si hai"? also had 2 brothers who were pitted against each other. and the evil brother marrying (then killing) a rich girl to take over the father-in-law's fortune.

The brothers were Michael Tao and Patrick Tam. Patrick was the good guy at first, but turned evil in the second half of the show. Haha. Coincidentally, the mother was also Deanie Ip.

Haha yeah. Patrick Tam was the bad guy in that show while Michael Tiu was the good guy. But since I don't remember a lot of that show, I can't really see the many similarities.
