This song is so good and I pretty much like all the versions, but I have a soft spot for the original by Frances Yip.

Who is Huang Xiao Ming? Wow, finally a "new" artist that dresses normally with normal short haircut and has a good voice. You don't know how much I miss that simplicity in artists nowadays.
My obsessions: Joy Division, New Order, Bones, The Office.

    How Soon Is Now

    Original: The Smiths

Cover: Love Spit Love - Rather pointless, does not bring anything new to the original
My obsessions: Joy Division, New Order, Bones, The Office.

You think that is pointless, this is even more laughable, T.A.T.U's rendition of the same song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=_BLpaF7tnYU

I couldn't edit my previous post about this song so I'm creating a new one...

Ceremony, a Joy Division song, but released by New Order

    Original:
7" single - My favourite song of all time and this is the best version
12" single - I like this very much, but the vocal is a bit thin

    Cover:
! Radiohead - Very good, the music sounds very much like the original and the vocal is a mix of Ian Curtis and Bernard Sumner

He's a chinese actor. He played the title character (Hui Man Keung) in the new mainland remake of 'The Bund'.

I think this version is not bad. I like it. The first time I heard Andy sing this song (it was played in the movie), I think it a refreshing rendition.

    Vincent (Starry Starry Night)

    Original:
    Don McLean

    Cover :
    Josh Groban
    Chloë Agnew

I think all 3 singers do the song justice. Each sings the song in a different style, and they each gives a different feeling to the listeners.

The first version I heard was actually Josh Groban's version. So, it's Josh Groban who introduced me to this sing. At that time, I thought this was a beautiful song and Josh sang it very well. Later, I got a chance to listen to the original by Don McLean, but was disappointed. After listening to Josh's powerful rendition, Don's softer version paled in comparison. But, the more time I listen to Don's version, the more I appreciate this softer, gentler version. I end up liking both equally. Chloë Agnew's version, I just heard it for the first time today. Came upon it while looking for the song in youtube. I think her version is also lovely.

Feeling Good by Muse (a Brit Band)

I first heard of the song Feeling Good sung by Michael Buble, and it was good. But the more I listen to Muse's version of the song, I really like the new rockish version instead of the big band style of the older versions. Overall, these are all good.

"Songs of Love", something that may sound familiar to fans of British comedy.

A slightly insipid cover by Ben Folds Five

The original by The Divine Comedy

The original by Frances Yip is the best because of the uniqueness in which she rendered the song. Right breathing technique and the right amount of emotion. She wasn't trying to impress with the song. She just did a great job.

Jenny Tseng is an excellent singer with a wider range that Frances Yip but she did try very hard to impress with her singing of the song. Her pronunciation was not as clean as Frances Yip's.

Huang Xiao Ming - good enough voice but the pronunciation needs a lot of work.

    Andy Lau - horrendous rendition.

I like both versions and both singers. Dolly's original has more emotional impact (probably because she wrote the song) but Whitney's version is a show stopper.

What the heck?! The song is still new and there are already so many covers. What's wrong with today's creativity? Remakes and covers everywhere.
