I'm starting to lose faith in mainland adaptations

TVB and Mainland for decent stuff.
Taiwan for crazy lets all have fun and die style series

I don't really lyke chinese series that much anymore but

TVB = cast, being creative[ish] and theme song

Taiwanese = cast, theme song and storyline

China = effects, wuxia and scenery

Taiwanese.. well, at least most of the time, I get to watch my idols act, and even make another star my idol.

TVB series are now like.. average fer me. They might have a nice cast, but the storyline, especially the ending, can go really terrible. Plus, most of them are really predictable nowadays.. like, what's gonna happen next, what's gonna happen to who.. Anyways, what I really want to see is some new professional jobs acted out. For example, they still haven't tackled the Police Reporter department(IIRC, there's a department like that, but I'm really unsure of what its called. Also, I'm not sure whether its counted as a pro job either.. ) and I think that they can make a show on paparazzis as well.

However so, I would think that a paparazzi show would go better with Mandarin voice.. Not sure why though.

As for Mainland.. I don't really watch'em, so its out straightaway

i prefer mainland although tvb ios also not bad...mostb of my fav actors and actresses come from mainland but in tvb ,there are alsio quite a number of talented ones....

Used to be Taiwanese n Korean coz Tvb shows are way too expensive. Butta now that i'd think about it, wad do i care? I only live once...so it's gotta be TVB!

TVB used to be great back in the 90s, but now there's only a few good shows.
Taiwan series suck because it tends to soapy and melodramatic and draggy and focus too much romance.
Mainland series have really good effects and scenery and it looks they spend more money on their series, but they are just not that entertaining.

I'm being too pessimistic aren' I?

but in the end I still voted for TVB.

i agree cheeky mainland does spend lots of money on the backgrounds of the series which make the scenery very beautiful and so does tvb only usually if it is ancient series or so and taiwan isn't bad but they do have lots of emotion series not lots of different types u can choose from but those three aren't bad

i'm seeing that there are many many productions TVB, ATV, koreans... ect... this is just a comparision to see which do you like best (and i'm not talking about a particular series or anything, just the style in general).... here's my thought 1st.

i've seen crapload of series. I still think that TVB produce the most enetertaining products out of all. and here's why.
1) New ideas (they have alot more ideas in different series than just love triangle, patriotism ect...) they take on different angle in society.
2) very nice casts (their people in general are prettier than other productions, hense we see alot of popular names in this forums are TVB actress) not so sure if it is because they have better makeup artist, or just better looking people in general. (i'm leaning toward better makeup artist/dress)
3) filming quality (IMO, the film made by TVB are clearer, sharper and more solid than the other production)
4) all TVB production have a family feels to it (a repetative of casts contribute to this, when TVB starts promoting someone that person will be on 70pct of the series in that year...) so we kindda see the same cast in different roles all the time, other production tends to cast new people alot more.

The bad things about other production that i've seen in general are
1) product quality/scenery. alot of the mainland series tend to film outdoors with huge senery, it is nice but at the same time they reduce the quality significantly, the end product is not as sharp/clear as TVB products.
2) dragging story line: every freaking series from other production drags and drags, they repeat themselves alot to get 1 points across to the audience. it's pretty boring because of this.
3) casts are not as good
4) repeating old ideas (there's like a million seires produced on love triangle already, yet they keep making new ones)

ofcouse this is just the matter of opinion, i'm not an advid movie watcher so i've narrow down to the few TVB series that i like and watch'em. i used to watch alot when i'm a kid, but not anymore. i'm not sure if my observation is correct and the same as other peopel

PS: i really like the makeup artist from TVB, they keep it simple and clean, both modern and sword fighting series, their costum is simple yet pretty. The other production just over do it with accessories. their women wears about 200 pounds of accessories on their head on the film

tvb's shows are good but some of them are crappy...like did you see seed of hope? in my opinion that was rather crappy...the interesting ones would be like survivors law and LWOLAP although it was not ray and mich...mostly i would say that tvb's modern shows are better ...if u like ancient ones,go watch the mainland ones...

i myself like productions that:
1.have a good starting
2.are not long winded
3.don't talk crap and unrealistic stuff
4.don't have a rushed ending
