Default The Future of Wuxia Fiction Forum

What is the future of the Wuxia Fiction Forum?

Is it going the way of the old cinple wuxia forum?

Where are the thought provoking, oft quoted threads?

Where are the new awe-inspiring essays and ideas?

Is there going to be any new ideas or arguements that will inspire oldies like me?

Where do you see this forum in 3 years time?

    Han Solo!

The future of wuxia fiction discussion, I hope, will be transformed into a different shape than in the past, whatever that may be. At least, for nostalgic purposes, we still have the ability to view some of the important discussions from the Golden Age of Wuxia.

New blood will stumble here now and then. They will ask the usual XF vs GJ vs YG vs ZWJ vs LHC vs Chen Jialuo questions and the cycle begins again.

Old blood will suffer natural attrition.

With PS3s and MP3s and more alternative entertainment, wuxia novels will become less popular. Don't get me wrong, Wuxia might have the same popularity but Wuxia _Novels_ won't.

E.g. kids will spend their time discussing wuxia on the net but its not JY/GL stories, instead they talk about the newest PS4 hit Iron Dynasty XIII or whatever.

I think for this thread of the forums, I see a long list of topics discussed, my suggestion to the moderators, recycle the old rusting topics of discussion, delete any redundent ones and combine those that can be combined.

There is what? 118 pages of topics discussed.... And do anyone nowadays really go back and look at the old ones?

I can't agree with you more.
If it weren't for my Mom who told LOCH to me when I was just a little child, I don't think I would become a Jin Yong's bookworm as now I am.
There are plentiful ways of entertainment in the modern world such as: watching TV, going shopping, playing sport, reading manga, etc. n the nowaday life is so busy that reading wuxia novel would be considered a big waste of time or somewhat an old-fashioned taste.
The future of this wuxia fiction forum would not be bright, I guess.
We teenagers tend to like watching wuxia TV adaptations but not reading.
Even if the future is bright, to me, the wuxia world would come to an end when there is not anymore debate on Jin Yong's novels.
