My Lucky Star (Fang Yang De Xing Xing)

Summary of ep 2. I did this from memory so order of some events may be wrong.

Ep 2
Ah Xing walked into the path of a car. Tian Qi thought that she wanted to kill herself but she said she was only hungry. They went to a bar to eat. Tian Qi asked her how she could forgive Shi San. She said that she was now the outsider. She was an orphan. If she took Shi San away then his baby will become an orphan. Tian Qi asked her if she could cut up love. She said No because the word ‘heart’ is in the word ‘love’. You couldn’t cut up your heart or you would die. Tian Qi was moved. He said that now he’s the outsider too. He would leave Ya Ruo for his brother’s sake. Ah Xing said, “There will only be pain if I stay with Shi San. If I leave there will be 10,000 possibilities in life.”

Tian Qi carried the drunken Ah Xing to a motel and realized it was a lovers’ motel. He wanted to leave but the manager wooed him to stay. The handcuffs fell out of his pocket. The manager thought that he was the rapist that the cops were looking for and called the police. Tian Qi wanted to take the Queen Mary home as his blessing for his brother and Ya Ruo’s wedding. The cops broke in and took them away. He lamented that his luck was so bad that he was cuffed 3 times in one day.

At the station, Tian Qi couldn’t talk his way out since Ah Xing was dead drunk.

At E. Shine’s board meeting the members were upset that the auction was cancelled at the last minute. The reason that Tian Juan gave was that Ya Ruo got sick. Tian Juan came in and explained that the Queen Mary was missing but he refused to tell how it got missing. He asked for 1 week so he could arrange a loan with a US bank. Ya Ruo was mad that he made such a promise. Tian Juan said that he was kind of glad that Tian Qi took the Queen Mary because he didn’t want it auctioned off anyway. The money would help E. Shine this time but it wouldn’t help the next time. What they needed was expanding the market.

Tian Qi’s father had Parkinson’s disease and his conditions worsened. A reporter called and blackmailed Tian Juan with the photos he took of his brother kissing Ya Ruo.

Ya Ruo wondered who that woman was who got Tian Qi to steal the necklace for her. Tian Juan said Tian Qi would not do things for no reason. Someone had to have done something bad to him frist. The cops called and told them about Tian Qi.

Tian Juan came to the station to pick up Tian Qi. Ah Xing woke up and told the cops that she and Tian Qi were bf/gf and explained that Tian Qi liked to be cuffed to the bed and be whipped and to have hot oil dripped on him. Tian Juan told Tian Qi and Ya Ruo to wait for him outside while he asked the cops to put a lid on the whole thing. Tian Qi and Ah Xing were playing outside and Ya Ruo got jealous. She told Tian Qi that she was glad she picked Tian Juan over him because he debased himself by associating with con-artists. Tian Qi told her that Ah Xing had the most beautiful heart and was better than Ya Ruo. Ya Ruo slapped him. Tian Qi told Ya Ruo, “Be nice to my brother. He will give you everything you want.” Ah Xing didn’t like Ya Ruo’s attitude and stole the blue diamond from the necklace. Tian Qi returned what he thought was the Queen Mary to Ya Ruo and left with Ah Xing. Ya Ruo said, “Losing the one I love, Queen Mary, is this your curse for me?” Meanwhile, Tian Juan overheard everything.

Tian Qi put Ah Xing on the bus to Tomorrow Village. She gave him the blue diamond before she left. Tian Qi got on the bus at the next stop. Ah Xing asked him why he didn’t want to go home. He said, “I just got out of the control of my father. Why should I go home?” He wanted to find the 10,000 possibilities that she talked about. Ah Xing thought that his father forced him to steal.

They got to Tomorrow Village and Tian Qi realized that the village produced durian and he hated durian. They were kidnapped by the villagers. Shi San told them that he worked for the lotto and could control the outcome. They gave him $20,000 each. The village elder’ son also gave him $60,000 because Shi San said that Ah Xing needed the money for surgery. They all wanted their money back. Ah Xing made up a story about her having cancer. Everyone felt sorry for her. Tian Qi stole the motorbike and tried to flee with Ah Xing. The bike had no brakes and they rammed into the village’s annual harvest of durian. The elder said now they owed them $1.5M. Tian Qi called his manager and asked him for money. His manager told him that he already used the money to pay off the French racer that Tian Qi beat up. He also cancelled his contract with Tian Qi. He told him his family was looking for him and they cancelled all his credit cards and froze his bank accts. Tian Qi tried to tell the villagers that he was a F1 racer, the only F1 racer in Asia but no one believed him. "Don't you read racing magazines?" The elder forced them to sign a contract to repay the money. The signing was conducted like a wedding ceremony. “Do you, Zhong Tian Qi, agree to pay off your debt?” “I do.”

Tian Qi was really mad at Ah Xing now. Everything she said was a lie. He started to wonder if she was really an orphan. Maybe that was also a lie. They came to Ah Xing’s uncle house. Ah Xing uncle cheated on the Mahjong table with Fat Ge and was caught. Ah Xing lied that she was the designer for E. Shine and could get Fat Ge a diamond necklace at 80% off and would deliver the necklace the next morning. Tian Qi was furious at Ah Xing. Ah Xing was upset that her uncle broke the lamp that her late mother gave her.

BTW, from the above article I finally figure out what Fang Yang De Xing Xing means. Fang Yang means lying, refering to the shepherd boy who cries wolf. So it means 'The Lying Ah Xing'.

So overall, ratings for My Lucky Star and Corner of Love went up. Joe Cheng's appearance in Summer's ep 2 didn't help at all. Its rating actually went down.

So overall, ratings for My Lucky Star went up and Corner of Love went down a tad. Joe Cheng's appearance in Summer's ep 2 helped a bit but still no match for Jimmy.

I'm really hoping the Lucky Star will also surpass Corner of Love. C'mon now, Da S is overrated anyway! (hehe... )

is yu rong the guy who played Da Wei before?
I think he's pretty good in Fang Yang though I don't like his style as much in it. Then again, he's playing a poor guy in this series. hehe He looks better in WZBQW but still a great actor. I think he sings well too.


on another note, I'm finding that Liu He Na definitely looks like a combination of Song Hye Kyo and Kim Tae Hee. Here are their photos:





What do you guys think? My friend (who loves Korean actresses) thinks LHN is definitely a mix of the two stars, but he thinks she's a bad mix. That's his opinion though. I think LHN is quite cute.
