Default Most useless weapons in wuxia?

For every awesome uber-weapon like the Heavy Iron Sword, the Heaven Sword, the Dragon Sabre, etc., there were probably dozens of really cheesy weapons that seemed like a good idea on paper, but didn't really work out for the characters who used them? Which would you consider the most useless weapons in wuxia?

Wooden Sword. Useless unless the user has extremely high internal energy and great sword techniques.

I think the worst weapon is the fan. Not only is it useless, it makes the user look feminine.

I doubt there is a weapon which can be considered useless, since if someone has mastered that weapon then he or she can use it and become very formidable.

I think it makes the user look pretty scholarly and cool.

There are numerous words to describe the likes of Au Yeung Hak and Fok Do, many of which are not complimentary. "Nerdy," however, isn't one of them.

Additionally did not both Kiu Fung and Mo Yung F'uk occassionally use fans in battle?

If you've ever been cut by a sheet of paper then imagine that paper fan slicing across your neck and you lie dying cursing that useless paper fan weapon.

Additionally, the fans used for fighting in wuxia stories are not made of ordinary paper, but are ironclad. They're basically swords shaped as fans.

... but didn't really work out for the characters who used them?
Li Xunhuan's daggers - brought him endless misery, regrets, frustration, sadness, and trouble.

Now, wouldn't it be more awesome if he was Little Li Flying INVISIBLE SWORD instead? If he could do the same thing without reliance on weapon.

XLN's ribbons. Can someone confirm if she had ever defeated anyone with those things?

Other than strangling your opponent with it i don't see how two bales of cloth can be lethal.

Outright win, no, but she gave the Golden Wheel Monk fits with those things on several occassions. They're not particularly lethal, but used well, can be a good survival tool against superior opposition.

Li Mochu begs to differ. You can hit a bazillion acupoints in 1 swing.

I also found it difficult to imagine the Golden Wheeled Monk using all 5 wheels at once. Was he performing a juggling act while he fought?

Come to think of it though, I believe it was the generic longsword that was snapped in half all the time.

The fan is awesome. The first wuxia TV series I saw had the main character of Chu Lu Xiang and he owned with the fan

I agree that GWM's 5 wheels thing was strange. The impression I got was that his wheels had some kind of boomerang property where he could throw and retrieve them, but I'm not sure how that works when he uses 5 wheels at close range e.g. versus two sword attack.

Okay, the pony tail weapon "looks" weak.

I thought the Golden Wheel Monk can only use two wheels at once and if the battle is not going in his favor he takes out the other two that are suppose to be more powerful or whatever.

The longsword breaks all the time because the user holding it is usually a lackey who 's fighting an opponent who's immensely more powerful than him.

The Go set from DGSD is a pretty useless weapon. The pieces are glued to the board. If you hold the board vertically in front of your opponent and trigger a hidden mechanism, darts fly out. Yeah, lots of people are gonna fall for that one.

"Why must we fight? Why not sit down and play a game of Go?"

That was by design, I think. Not that Au Yeung Hak or Fok Do were homosexual (far from it), but playboys in wuxia are generally depicted as slightly effeminate.
