If there was no Huang Rong, who would Guo Jing like?
There is a similar thread for Yang Guo, so why not one for Guo Jing?
So, here are the choices:
Hua Zheng
Mu Nian Ci
Chen Yao Jia (the girl who HR's shi ge's son Lu Guan Ying liked)
Sha Gu (sorry, but there aren't very many eligible girls....)
Okay, I can't think of any more girls that are in the same generation as him..

Princess Hua Jeng, but only by default. Until Wong Yung came along, Gwok Jing's libido was more or less completely inert. He did like Hua Jeng, but in a completely non-sexual way (he treated her almost like a female version of Tolui; she was his female "anda," if such a thing is conceivable). After Wong Yung, other women such as Muk Lim Chi and Ching Yiu Ga failed to arouse his interest either.

Gwok Jing's one-track mind is very consistent.

I believe CC refers to Gwok Jing's dependence on Wong Yung's wittiness to bail him out of many scraps in their early days together. Granted, Wong Yung's wits and devotion to Gwok Jing were his biggest external asset, many of the dangerous encounters he got himself into during LOCH were also *because* of his association with Wong Yung. Moreover, Gwok Jing was able to survive the dangers of the Mongolian steppe without Wong Yung during the first eighteen years of his life. Also not to be forgotten is the Wuxia Main Character Luck Mojo (every wuxia main character has this). One way or another, they survive and thrive.

Without Wong Yung present, that's certainly possible. With Wong Yung there, he really dug his heels in and resisted his teachers' will for the first time in his life. Without Wong Yung, he *might* go along with it, but it's hard to say for sure.

In his early days (before he has the experience to lead an army and stuff) Guo Jing needs someone who is bossy and assertive. I believe he is attracted to those qualities in HR. So I would say definitely HZ since Mu Nian Ci and Chen Yao Jia seemed to be the more calm, submissive type.

Interestingly, in an alternate universe in which he is not the father of Guo Xiang, I think GJ would be attracted to GX and perhaps even GF too.
