Men? aren't you being sexist here? i've seen women do the same thing in this typical scenario.

it's a public transport - everyone paid to use it, so why should those seated be asked to give up their seat?

There are signs ON THE BUS that say we must give up our seats to senior citizen and handicap people. Some people are just too inconsiderate to do a nice thing for their fellow human.

I'm sorry, maybe I should rephrase and say some of the men I've seen on the bus aren't gentlemen enough to give up their seats, when they see women standing and almost falling as the bus makes a turn. And I've seen some women given up their seats while some of these men just sat idlely.

It’s not a “right” in term of laws hence you’ll not be punished for your inaction. However, it’s part of social etiquettes. Thus, your inaction will lead to “dirty looks” or angry stares.

Disabled people are the same as handicapped people. Why would they need to stand up when by law, their seats are reserved.

Shouldn't it be when PEOPLE don't stand up for the elderly or pregnant or __? Surely if able bodied women do not stand up, that isn't right either.

Here in NY, I find the new Chinese immigrants really rude. They give the rest of Asians a bad image. You can spot these FOB's quite easily by how they look.

I hate when people lick their finger(s) before passing out/back papers. It's not necessary to use spit to separate sheets and it's just disgusting to be on the receiving end.

People who don't say Thank You. It's like they forget to express their gratefulness or like people owe them that favor or was never taught to say thank you when somebody does something nice for you without expecting much. If you can't do anything for them in return at least say thank you for their efforts of doing something for you. People who don't say thank you just gives me the impression of ungrateful people.

I'm allergic to people who want favor from you and instead of asking nicely, they shout at you like it's your obligation to help them

Since we're on the topic of public transportation and decency, what about this guy?

Some won't give up their seats for fellow commuters; this guy almost gave up his life for one.
