Pet peeves -- got any weird ones?

Kind of similar to yours, it's also annoying when someone asks me to do something by saying something like "you want to get me that" I mean, what if I don't want to? "You want to..." is also like (or it is) a command, which means if a boss says it then you don't really have another choice. Why couldn't they just ask normally like "can you..." or "please..."?

It's a passive-aggressive threat.

Technically, a person 'can' perform many things, since 'can' is an indication of the person's ability to perform, not the willingness. Asking a person 'Can you...' might risk the possibility of an obnoxious reply from that person whom might respond with "I can, but I shall not..."
