End of Ming Cult

Towards the end of HSDS, the entire Ming Sect was wiped out by ZYC formerly from them. I believed that the whole process of wiping out the sect was a series of steps rather then an out wide attack on them yes? If so, why did the Ming Sect not ask for assistance from the Wulin community when being attacked? I mean various sects such as Kong Tong, Kun Lun, Wudang Shaolin etc; owed them during the reign of the Mongols in the early part of HSDS and i belived that should the Ming Sect asked, they would return the favour. Or did they appeal, but no help came?

Actually, I don't think ZYC wiped out the entire Ming Cult but rather changing it into a government where that why their era is know as Ming Dynasty.
