Yes they do. With enough internal power you can make a horse fly. Watch the first episode and you'll see.

It was probably that notion that compelled Jin Yong to stop licensing his novels to TVB for adaptation.

HSDS 1986 may not left any wires showing but the editing crew sure did fall asleep

Here is the scene when the Mongolians were surrounding Shaolin Temple and Wang Baobao was discussing about a full force attack even at the cause of his sister, Zhao Min, life. You could clearly see the actor inserted his "ear tassels" inside his belt.

Moments later, his "ear tassels" are completely out.....

He said "Mie at the top, Jue at the bottom". She replied "Yes, Absolute Annihilation...

I noticed that too, but I thought it was some kind of Mongolian fashion statement.

i agree! that would interesting to see.

the only blooper i've ever seen was in the movie "Easter Condors" probably because i watch that movie too many times to count. oh and in "prince turn into frog" the taiwanese drama.

LOCH 2003 was actually pretty faithful to the novel. I think that's what Jin Yong is looking for.

It may be a good thing for the audience because there's almost an oversaturation of JY adaptations. Not that Huang Yi's novels are better than JY's, but it's a good thing to have wuxia series on new plots and new characters.

It's no surprise Jin yong is "angry"... actually i've always been perplexed why TVB alway seem to make such cheap & sloppy jin yong adaptions, especially the 90s versions.
For example the 90s version ROCH, i know the main characters Louis Koo & Carmen Lee were pretty well-cast, but the overall serial, it's like anyone can tell it's some kinda of cheap production. The supporting cast was like using mostly TVB lesser known artists, most of the important characters like the 4 experts, Zhou Botong etc well terribly cast (aside from Lau Dan who's the same one as in the 80s). The war scene looks terribly cheap, the "fake" condor...

Anyone knows TVB can surely afford using more prominent actors for the key characters and make better war scenes.

It' such a stark difference if u see those period productions which TVB allocate budget to.. for example A step into the Past, wow u can see the cast Louis koo, Sonia Kwok, Raymond, Kong Wah and the list of supporting characters. not to mention the grand scenery & epic-like war scene..

Given that Jin yong's novel like ROCH & LOCH alredy provide an excellent storyline, if only TVB put in more resources, they would have a classic at hand

both HSDS 2000 and 2003 sucks balls when it comes to fighting scenes, OMG they fuked up haha. there was absolutely no fighting what so ever, only 1 chinese dude at the computer doing all the editing. i like the chic in the 03 and the guys in the 00... gigi was pretty in the 00, i probably keep her but the rest is kinda pale compare to the 03 gang of chick. other than that i don't find anything wrong with the story line, some changes here n there but nothing dramatic. YJ should let them make addaptions again, it's always fun to compare haha, look at ROCH06, that crap pop out and people talk about it for 2-3 months...

a step in the past is 10 years after loch/roch, so of course there are more resources... i thought every1 liked the 82/83 ver, but those series obviously had even less resource than the 94/95 ver, so i dont think its the problem w/ resources

Im a fan of the 80s adaptations. I have never read the novels, so I can't comment. But from what I have heard, some of the 80s adaptations weren't very faithful to the original novel in some parts. I heard that LOCH 94 was actually closer to the novel than 82. For some reason Jin Yong really likes the 80s version. Can anybody tell me why?

Because the 80s adaptations, while not always 100% accurate, were done with a great deal of heart. The SFX were limited, the scenery was limited, but you could tell from the performances of the actors and the direction of the scenes that a great deal of respect was given to the stories' characters. The additions and subtractions to and from the novel in the 80s adaptations were not disrespectful of the author's original intent, and conveyed the correct sense of the characters and stories if not always with the exact same details.

Guys here's the reason of why I think the ancient dramas are total crap. The money required for the SFX.. (special effects), costuming, scenary and all that is just too expensive for the money they get in. I mean quite frankly comedies rack him money on par to the expensive ancient movies so why not do comedy instead? Furthermore when TVB does do ancient series.. they are crap.. like you mentioned. HSDS 2000 was actually pretty good due to Lawrence Ng's great acting, ZZR could've been better.. and ZM was great.. but yea HSDS 2003 was total crap.. half the fight scenes were gone and like ugh.. i don't wanna talk about it

i think all of tvbs jin yongs adaptions are the best. i mean not following the book and all but with actor/actresses, graphics/ action scene choregraphy, scenery, costumes. i think tvb looks better then taiwanese and main land china adaption. i dont really care of its faithful or not to the book as long as it has good casting costumes and graphics and fighting scenes and most of tvbs are good except fake props but i guess it makes it look more wuxia because of that.
