No, actually you are. What pisses moderators off are members who flout the rules and respect for fellow members as if this forum were their homes.Originally Posted by Fearless
The Administrator does not select members who don't demonstrate good judgment and self-control to be moderators. Therefore, members who consistently create conflict aren't going to be viable candidates.
Which is also why those who are selected to be moderators are those whom the Administrator trusts to be interested in the duties for the right reasons: moderators must be sincere in their desire to make SPCNET a discussion forum of high standards.Originally Posted by Fearless
Strife_au has had consistent problems following forum rules since he first joined, particularly in the area of using foul language (we can overlook the occassional offense, but strife made a habit of gratuitously using such language even after being specifically warned not to use it to the extent that he did) and in making posts that lacked substance (many of his posts were only two or three words long and contributed nothing of value...in other words, noncommercial SPAM). He's received several warnings and temporary bannings for infractions before. Finally, the moderator crew decided after his latest violation that we had extended him enough second chances. His promises to better conform to forum standards were not kept. Therefore, the moderators agreed to end his posting privileges.Originally Posted by big master

The moderators don't expect or want to be treated as royalty. All they ask is that everyone, mods and regulars alike, are treated with courtesy and respect.
The problem comes from the fact that there are members out there who don't want to do even that much.
LOL! its a thankless job - why would i want to be a moderator?

No one will thank you when you're a mod.
No loss there.
Thus, I still nominate you as moderator...since strife has been banned, you and dragonite

considering the fact that we're not picking any new mods anytime soon, no thanks.
and we don't usually ask for nominations either. it's not a popularity contest.
nytimes: Every hr you have 10 minutes where you’re not doing anything productive at work, & you can’t look at porn. So you make a comment & fulfill this desire to show yourself off as a smarty-pants.
beats me.. i dont know where this mod nominations come from. all bella did was ask how one becomes a moderator...

Man, are you serious? So all the times I've wasted dancing on the webcam for you, I could've done that for SC instead, as you have no say in promoting a member to moderator?Originally Posted by Ken Cheng

nah...i dun know about that one....but i saw a thread started by strife recently about "most pissed off thread posts in spcnet' n a number of forumers said that the thread was not such a good idea coz it re-opens wounds.... days later, i cudnt find it anymore...so im guesing he was banned bec of that.Originally Posted by Ken Cheng
Have a quick question...if you're banned, are you still able to login to your account and PM other members (w/o posting on the forum itself) or is communication permanently broken?

I have no idea. Would anybody like to volunteer for a 10-minute banning so that we can test out these functions?Originally Posted by Sparky

OK. The current forum time is around 3:00 p.m. on the West Coast (where I am). I'll release you at 3:10 p.m. PST. Then, you can report back to us what kind of results you got.Originally Posted by GuGu1995
