    Default What is the correct pronunciation of "Jiunan"?

    The nan in Jiunan - 九

    Is it nan(2) or nan(4) ?

    I think nan4 would be better.

    From what I know, there isn't really a set pronunciation for names. So, it would really depend on the intention of the author and the meaning of the word in that specific usage, which I suppose is what Candide has said. I could be wrong, of course.

    How about Jiu_nan(2)/Jiu_nan(4) (There are two ways to pronounce her name)?

    I think it must be nan(4). At least the TV version used it lol.

    As Candide stated, the nan here refers to calamity so it must be nan(4). At least that's how I interpret it.
