Default Which hair-removal accomplishment is more impressive?

Let's compare the process of 2 hair removal feats:

    1) Duan Zhengming was behind Elder Kurong. Kurong didn't bother to look or turn behind. He simply put one hand on Duan Zhengming's head, spoke a few words, and when he lifted his hand, there was not one hair left on Duan Zhengming's head. Had a special hair-removal knife been used instead, it would not have yielded such flawless results as Elder Kurong demonstrated.

    2) The wind emitted by Murong Fu's sword was unbearably shivery to Duan Yanqing, Cui Baichuan, etc, so much so that their hair were being snipped off by the sword wind. In addition, their clothes were being ripped into pieces by the sword wind.

One should note that while Elder Kurong simply moved his hand and the deed was done, Murong Fu needed to go nearly all-out to get it done.

Not comparable. Murong Fu wasn't trying to cut off Duan Yanqing's hair, he was trying to kill someone

Murong Fu was circling around Duan Yanqing et al in the small room; however his sword wind turned out to be an effective, albeit unintentional, hair-removal method.

I suppose it's not entirely a fair comparison, but I wanted to prove a point, which shall be revealed in full at a later time

Murong Fu's hair cutting skill is obviously more impressive!

It's easy for a relatively elite fighter to put his/her hand on others' heads to remove their hair since the hand is a part of the body and has _sensitive nerve cells_ and the barber doesn't need to see his customer to adjust the impact force.

On the other hand, a sword has no eyes neither nerve cells, yet Murong Fu could completely shave his prisoners' head without any scratch! His barbering skill must have reached the level of perfection!
Yang Guo & Zhou Botong said in Chapters 6, 11 & 25 of ROCH:
    - 这道姑也算得美了,只是还不及桃花岛郭伯母,更加不及我姑姑。
    - 原来郭伯母竟是这般美貌,小时候我却不觉得。
    - 龙姑娘,我瞧你品貌才智,和那小黄蓉不相上下,武功也跟她差不离。

As amusing as this reply is, I must say something.
Murong Fu did NOT completely shave his prisoners' heads without any scratch. He simply forced some off. Also it's debatable whether it is easy for an elite fighter to simply put his hand on a head and remove their hair flawlessly. All of the the Tianlong monks were deeply impressed with this feat, signifying that it is a highly prestigeous feat, and it's something that Duan Zhengming and his fellow ranking monks would not be able to do. So what Elder Kurong did is certainly something that Murong Fu would not be able to reproduce, since Murong Fu < Duan Zhengming.

Yes, and then I would have started a topic about whose clothes-ripping accomplishment is more in line with the peak-of-perfection-esque quality.

Still not comparable. The only way to answer your question in a comparable way that's meaningful, would be to answer one of these two questions:

    A) If Kurong was fighting with a sword against Duan Yanqing et al, would he be able to produce sword wind that could remove hair?

    or,

    B) If Murong Fu was specifically trying to remove hair from a person's head and do nothing else, could he do so just by holding his hand over a person's head for a few seconds?

We have no information and no way to answer this question one way or another.

XWT rubbed his face a bit and had a perfect shave. His feat would fall in between these two in terms of impressiveness =D

The bottom of that which I was trying to get at with this poll, is a subject/theory which is very dear to my heart, and that is: subtlety vs concreteness in action. When people have reached a high level in martial arts philosophy and internal energy purity, they can perform subtle feats such as removing hair with a simple touch, whereas a young fighter of the same calibre whose internal energy is not so pure would need to put more effort into the action to achieve the same result. This demonstrates the advantage of having pure internal energy, and I believe it should be taken into consideration when gaudging the MA level of characters (instead of focusing only on combat performance/endurance).

By the way, I'm 100% sure that Murong Fu would not be able to reproduce Elder Kurong's hair removal accomplishment (due to reasons mentioned previously). I'm not 100% sure whether Elder Kurong would be able to reproduce Murong Fu's accomplishment.
