is it possible to reopen the relationship forum? cause i remember a long time ago, there was a forum like that here but dunno wat happened to it.

However, the net is a great source to gather preliminary information about common health problems, health news, prevention information and a host of other useful information related to health and/or nutrition. Nonetheless, to treat a specific illness (other than the common cold) or to get medical prescriptions, it is in your best interest to consult a licensed professional.

I think people need to understand that there's a lower chance than zero for the relationship forum to reopen. The mods and admin have confirmed this so many times before and I think members should just face it rather than bug the staff repeatedly about it. I doubt the constant buggings will ever change their minds anyway.

Actually, the moderators have been discussing the current glut of relationships-themed topics at the Open Debate Forum and considering ways of curtailing them. There are reasons that SC took the rare and unprecedented measure of actually deleting a forum (the Relationships Forum) years ago. We have been somewhat lax in our restriction of relationships topics as of late, but if the situation devolves, expect a return to more strict enforcement.

Open Debate has become sex/relationship talk anyway so there is no point, with some occasional political and capitalism vs. socialism issues floating around...

This should not be surprising. After all, humans are relational beings. Beside the basics of food and shelter human relationships are an intricate component of human natures. Humans necessitate social interactions that are evolved through relationships with others - that is why families are created, friendships are made, and communities are formed. Whether it personal or impersonal, relationships are important to our growths; thus, it is natural to engage in discussions about relationships.

If the subject contents are productive and pertinent, then I don’t see why it is such a big deal. Granted, spcnet has complete autonomy over her forums. However, sometimes, it is important to extend courtesy ears to her subjects. I was not here during the time when SPCNET had a “relationships” forum, thus, I do not miss it and I can respect SPCNET’s decision not to reopen it. However, attempt to “curb” all related relationship subjects in the ‘Open Debate’ forum is an unfortunate far stretch. Especially, if the contents are relevant.
