Default How universal were acupressure sealing skills in wulin?

In the Jin Yong universe, the skill of sealing acupressure points seems to be universal in wulin. It seems that every Jin Yong wulin character, even the weakest and least experienced ones, has this skill in his or her repertoire. Obviously, certain experts such as the 1 Yeung Finger practitioners can do it better than other people, but it seems that anybody who can call himself/herself a member of wulin has acupressure sealing/unsealing skills.

Over in Gu Long's universe, we see an exception to this convention: Ah Fei was a first-class fighter, but was unable to seal or unseal acupressure points simply because he had never been formally trained in such a skill.

So how common or uncommon was the skill of acupressure sealing in wulin?

i would say this was pretty common, i mean even the worst fighters in wulin can use acupressure sealing (ex. Wei xiao bao's wives)

sealing pressure points is just another skill you've got to learn (know where to point at least). ah fei just never had the chance i suppose.

the basic ones should be pretty widespread.

most martial artist know of pressure points and that if you hit where they are located, you can hurt and injure your opponent more seriously there. most belonging to ordotox sects and clans, (not those no skill bandits) have some grasp of the skill but it's of the very basic kind. know there's this accupoint there, hit it exactly and the body/part goes numb for a while. but most of them know only third class techniques and aren't likely to be able to seal an opponents accupoints in the midest of battle. after the opponent is defeated and motionless, then only. most of the top sect leaders had at the most a second class accupoint sealing technique or a very good grasp of a third class technique(depends heavily on inner power to make it effective). the orchid sealing accupoint of peach blossom island and shaolin finger skills is considered the better among the 2nd class accupoint techniques, while TZSG and yiyangzhi is among the first class techniques.

ah fei did not know martial arts in the proper sense. he just created and mastered one move, to pierce his opponents thoart in an increadibly fast move. it was DGKB style. he may have known inner power cultivation techniques but that may have been all he was ever thought. the rest was from his hard training in the wild.
