Default How did Kiu/Siu Fung retain his given name of "Fung?"

Was Kiu Fung born with the given name of "Fung," or was that a name given to him by his Han caretakers after he had been adopted? I find it strange that both his biological parents (the Sius) and his adoptive parents (the Kius) would just coincidentally give him the same name. If it had been the Sius who had originally named their son "Fung," how would the Kius (and others) have known that that was the boy's name? On the other hand, if the Kius named the boy "Fung," it doesn't explain why Siu Yeun San continued to use that name to address his son after the two were reunited.

Qiao Feng's original name was indeed Xiao Feng. Xiao Yuanshan carved this information in the stone before proceeding to jumping off a cliff, and the people who took care of baby Qiao Feng saw it.

I see. I'm surprised that Siu Yeun San was literate in the Han Chinese language. Not too many Khitans were, probably.

He carved in his language. The central plains warriors later got it translated (by copying the words onto a piece of fabric).

I suppose Siu Yeun San became literate in the Han Chinese language later, when he had to secretly pore over those Shaolin martial arts manuals.

XYS had a Han sifu, so he might've known the language prior to that.

AFAIK, he knew and he tried to call on the Han fighters to stop killing. But his Khitan accent was so hard that they didn't understand anything at all.

    - 原来郭伯母竟是这般美貌,小时候我却不觉得。
