Newbie here Just wanted to say that I adore Liu Yi Fei. I mostly adore not just because of her talent, but because she seems to be the most genuine Chinese actress. I recently saw some photos of her without make-up that she put up in her blog, and I was in awe. She's a real natural beauty who is not afraid to show that she is just like any other girls...so down to earth. I'm tired of seeing these fake beauties with cake-on makeup and/ or enhanced with plastic surgeries. Liu Yi Fei is definitely worth to be admired by many. She is the real deal.

yup, she's so deadly gorgeous. and she's so gorgeous without make up as well. i hate how ppl say she doesn't look good without make up, like seriously, can you look like that? and best of all, she doesn't have surgery. and i love her talents too. i think she looks best with HXM as well.

OMG! So true. I can't believe there are people out there saying that she's ugly without makeup. I wonder if these are bitter fatties that live in their mama's basement I love her true natural, Asian beauty. Unlike the other Chinese actresses who try too hard to look Caucasian through plastic surgeries.

The Four was already released on July 12th, and its box office has reached 170 million yuan so far. I think it's an average and blurry movie. However, considering it's only the first part, it's understandable that they only introduced the main characters. You should really check out the movie yourself, it's everywhere online. You can find it on youtube. I would say Crystal's acting improved a lot compared to her other previous movies. She does not have too much screen-time, since it's dispensed among the other 3 constables esp Deng Chao, but I would still see her presence. I don't think it's too early for them to film the sequel since the first part was already filmed early last year. The Four has 3 parts to it btw.

The Four is totally crappy! But I actually liked LYF's Emotionless. Problem is she had lack of character development. Even greats like Anthony Wong and Deng Chao weren't anything to shout about. But I liked Wu Xiu Bo's zombie-making villain.

My problem with LYF is - I think she's totally gorgeous and I love to look at her pics... That's why I keep visiting this thread, actually. (Loved the series of photos from L'officiel.)
But I quite strongly dislike her as an actress and I seriously think other, more talented girls should be playing her roles. (And I also very much dislike the idea of a female Wu Qing. A female Zhui Ming or a female Tie Shou would be so much more fun...:-])
On the other hand. I do like Deng Chao quite a lot...:-]

It would have been better if you had elaborated that into your previous post than writing a one liner with a sense of sarcasm all over; that's why I also gave a one liner reply. Of course, there are many more talented girls than LYF, but if only the more talented girls get to play the roles, then what about the even more talented girls? The reason why LYF is famous is not only because she can act but also has an extra-ordinary beauty. Although beauty is subjective, we cannot deny that her beauty is very well received. If beauty is not important for an actress, then there will be much more average looking famous actresses. I don't think LYF is a very good actress, but I do appreciate her improvement throughout the years (esp considering how little productions she's taken part in). Personally, I think she did quite well in the role Wu Qing. It makes sense that they made Wu Qing a female rather than Zhui Ming or Tie Shou because it doesn't take much femininity away from the character. Wu Qing is described to be a dark character with the appearance a bit feminine. This movie has already been criticized badly for its rendition of Wu Qing, I cannot imagine how much more would it have been thrown rocks at if Tie Shou(a manly character) or other two persons' sex were changed.

And that's precisely why I find it incredibly lame. Wu Qing is a relatively feminine guy to start with. It makes the whole re-imagination feel very...redundant. You take a character who gives off more yin vibes than a truckload of tofu and you turn him into a girl. What is the point? A female Tie Shou or a female Zhui Ming (heck, even Leng Xue) would be more of a statement, more fun and more of a challenge...:-) (I do understand WHY they didn't go there, but that still doesn't make the Wu Qing thing work for me...:-))
