no, no msg those days.... just clean river that produced tasty fish, fresh air that generated rich vegetables and natural resources that gave unpoisoned meat. those goodness alone makes HR' cookings taste good.... who taught her? the street hawkers and the kitchen chefs me thinks... a clever smart intelligent brilliant and genius like her has no problem mastering such mediocre skill

There was no MSG in those days, that was what made her dishes with MSG so heavenly to others

North Beggar Hung 7 Gung would think he'd died and gone to heaven if he could see those all-you-can-eat buffets that seem to be ubiquitous in the U.S. today.

Even Kiu Fung always seemed to have cash on him to buy literally gallons of liquor per drinking session. The poverty of the Beggar's Union was an act for many of the top beggars.

HR learned to cook from the servants on Peach Blossom Island in order to please her over-indulging daddy. It was also easier than learning his martial arts.

i'm quite sure it was specifically stated that HR learned cooking from HYS since the dishes she presented H7G were named by her father.
