Anybody following this Discovery Channel [US & Can] series? If you really pay attention to some of the weapons tests you'll spot some flaws in the test methods that appear to me to be deliberate. One was a test of a 50 caliber sniper rifle armor piercing round that punched a hole thru two sheets of armor plate that were mounted vertically instead of sloped like real armor [sloping effectively increases the thickness of a given thickness of plate]. Another was a test of a small 4.6mm high velocity automatic rifle designed for close quarter fighting. This gun was supposed to be tested against body armor for penetration tests against the M-16 and a 9mm automatic rifle. The M-16 easily punched hole in body armor, the 9mm didn't and when they tested the new 4.6mm they shot holes in a helmet even though body armor was mounted on the same post. The only reason I can think of for shooting the helmet was that the 4.6 actually couldn't pierce body armor and they didn't want to show it.
Anyone else spot other tests that weren't quite as advertised?
