I hope this JTTW variation is not as terrible as the one with Bai Ling.

lol by Rob Minkoff (Stuart Little, Haunted Mansion), don't expect much, this will definitely a G or PG movie.Michael Angarano ("Sky High," "Lords of Dogtown," TV's "Will and Grace") is in final negotiations to star alongside Jackie Chan and Jet Li in their untitled project says The Hollywood Reporter.
Angarano will play a troubled 17-year-old wannabe kung fu warrior who, after a humiliating defeat at the hands of a street gang, is sent back in time to ancient China on an impossible mission to set free the imprisoned Monkey King (Li) and return to him his all-powerful staff.
Rob Minkoff is directing, John Fusco wrote the script. The project is due to start filming in early May in China.

no, pls not LYF.....are we so lacking of Chinese actresses tat we have to choose her? she's still so "inexperienced".
Solitary trees, if they grow at all, grow strong.
What a quandary...LYF is inexperienced....but the only way to get experience to to appear in as many series and movies as she can.Originally Posted by f.alchemist_freak

The martial arts action movie staring Jackie Chan and Jet Li for the first time on the bigscreen is called "The Forbidden Kingdom" now. The movie is set to be released by 2008.
Director Rob Minkoff ("The Lion King," "Stuart Little") is set to begin lensing the movie in China on May 2 from a script by John Fusco. Action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, who has worked on films including "The Matrix" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," is creating the fight sequences.
Based on the Chinese legend of the monkey king, story revolves around an American teenager who discovers the king's legendary stick weapon in a pawn shop. Teen is transported back in time to ancient China, where he joins a crew of warriors fighting to free the imprisoned king.
Li is set to play two roles, that of the monkey king and the silent monk. Chan will pay the monk T'sa-Ho.
When promoting the U.S. bow of Li's most recent movie, "Fearless," Rogue Pictures touted it as his last martial-arts epic. "Forbidden" is being described as more of an action-adventure with fight sequences.

The story line sounds dodgy...
爱是最最奇幻的魔术
让人都要对它趋之若鹜
这场魔术都是要结束
真爱是箭在弦上不认输
When it's Hollywood money invested then you can expect the Chinamen in it to be chop-suey fu-manchu. Chow Yun Fatt and Jackie Chan can attest to being made to look like bucktoothed chinamen.

I predict CRAPNESS for this movie.
Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!
Agree since Hollywood is the main money man in this project. Both Jackie and Jet Li will end up like Jackie's fool in Tuxedo, and most of Jet's Hollywood movies bombed with the exception of LW4.

this seriously sounds like it will fall flat and be absolutely ridiculous...
Ang mohs know crap about making Chinese kung fu flicks. Jet is better off pulling out of this project or else get HK investors instead of Hollywood.
i never did like Jackie's movies....and the way things are going now, i kinda have a feeling this is gonna be one of Jackie's comedy movies. i wouldnt want Jet making a fool out of himself....and the way i see it in this movie he might....
why cant he just forget Hollywood and focus on HK?
Please give her a chance...btw is that finally she join this project?Originally Posted by 0-0-0
The official title of Mummy 3 is Curse of the Dragon and will be released 7/11/08.
Rachel Weisz will not be in it.
Yeah, this is gonna turn out well. Let some guy who's been doing cartoon movies all of his life to make a kung fu flick. This is starting to sound more and more like a joke. Much like Around the World in 80 Days.

If Jet Li going to play the 'moneky role' I vey doubted that he will surpass the orginial monkey role from Classic "Journey to the West 1986" series.
Found this on the Wu-Jing.org site: "Forbidden Kingdom --
Jackie Chan will be using his signature move Drunken Fist for his character Lu Yan. Yuen Wo Ping hopes to present Drunken Fist as something gentle on the inside, forceful on the outside. Silent Monk (Jet Li), who was transformed from a strand of hair on Monkey God that escaped when the latter was imprisoned, uses Monkey Fist; Yuen Wo Ping designs for Jet Li the ancient form that dazzles the opponent with fast and ever-changing moves before delivering the fatal blow. White Hair Demoness (Li Bing Bing) uses Phoenix Dancing in Ninth Heaven, and specialises in whip and twin swords. Golden Swallow, (Liu Yi Fei), whose forte is lightness kungfu, employs Pipa Skill; when strumming the pipa, secret weapons will shoot forth.
Liu Yifei's mother has agreed to play Queen Mother who appears briefly in the movie. Unfortunately, Li Xue, Li Bing Bing's sister agent, turned down the cameo role of moon fairy Chang-er, who dances at the Peaches Meet. White Hair Demoness was originally a male character Whitebrows. But on Peter Pau's suggestion, they changed it to a female character whose hair turned white overnight when she was betrayed by her lover. Forbidden Kingdom will wrap up in August and be released in around April 2008. Nanfang Daily, Sina"
Well it's a first to see Jet Li using Monkey Fist when all his other martial arts styles were either Shaolin or Taichi based.
