Someone helps me to kill Sasser worms pls...

My computer is being infected by sasser worms which cause the Windows XP to reboot after each 10 minutes and the internet speed go down by 60%. I tried many kinds of antivirus programs + antispyware programs but the worms still exist.
Someone who has experience in fighting against these hateful worms help me pls... otherwise I'll have to format the HD. T.T

First of all, Thanks for your reply, Huang Qianbei.

Secondly, I tried that tool of Symantec and it does not work. Just like many other anti_Malware programs I've used since the last 2 days up to now, it says that my comp is clear of Viruses and Malwares. But the comp are still keeping to reboot after each 10 minutes with a message "Win 32 Services encountered a problem..." + a 60 second countdown box, and I hardly can connect to the Internet. T.T

2 days without Using the Internet so far, OMG, I think I'll get crazy if this situation can not be resolved. (I'm using my friend's comp to post this reply T.T)

Did you print the instructions out and follow them, instead of just (clicking and) running the tool?

Try booting ur com to safe mode, and use the symantec tool.

i don't know what kind of worm my comp is being infected.
i updated latest versions of avg, spybot s n d, lavasoft anti malware, microsoft malware removal tool, etc. and reboot with administration account in safemode,
i scanned and cleaned ~ 50 viruses + malwares but it seems that 1 worm still survives.
it can automatically turn off my Zone Alarm and connect to a strange IP in the US and restart my comp.
i'm really tired and annoyed, if until this weekend i still can't deteted this worm, i'll reformat the hard disk, hope this action will work. zzz

Now you say you "don't know what kind of worm" it is.

For some worms/malware, there are no shortcuts. You just have to follow the instructions to the T and work through the whole process step by step, even if it takes you 5 straight hours. My brother spent such an amount of time and more removing a variety of malware from my niece's computer recently.

try tracing to the original source. like where u did u think u got the virus from and try to google for help and see if other ppl went to that site before. if not, i suggest just reformat than try to remove it and waste so much time. there is this reformat option where u can reformat to like what u were at 1 month ago, which is a good option u can try.

i suggest just reformat than try to remove it and waste so much time. there is this reformat option where u can reformat to like what u were at 1 month ago, which is a good option u can try.

Good idea, could you tell me what is the software I should use to reformat backward to the situation of 1 month ago?

if it's some kind of ware....then try use spydoctor in safe mode....it seems like most of the program u used are free right?

It really is worth buying a full-blown anti-virus and firewall software set. The free versions lack considerable functionality.
What irks me is that my latest version anti-virus software has a built in firewall [not enabled by me but paid for by me] and my latest version firewall software now has an anti-virus component [also not enabled by me but paid for by me]. It seems to me that both software companies should offer a lower cost version without the added unasked for functions.

Funny enough, I have my Norton Antivirus paid for registration and it even could not recognize what the worm that infected my computer was whereas AVG anti-spyware, a free software, could. However, none of the softwares I tried could delete the worm, I lost to it, and had to reformat the hard disk. The aftermath I got: 1 week without using computer + 3x GB mp3 + quite a few documents. T.T

Theres a way to abort the Shutdown automation.

a. Start > Run > type shutdown -a

or

b. Change your timeclock on your computer to a couple days earlier.


I have no clear solution to getting rid of worms beside reformatting your computer.

I personally don't use Anti-Virus software such as Norton and ZoneAlarm those type of programs gives me headache. I've be using the computer for well over 12+ years and have had one Virus and that was because I was 11 and thought the guy was sending me an Age of Empires 2 beta version lmao.. ahh the good times... I was freaking out when the computer started booting out of no where and the CD-Rom drive was ejecting without me touching it.

sorry i completely forgot about this thread. umm when u first start ur computer, u can press f11 sometimes f12 for some computers and it'll bring u to a reformatting screen, then theres an option that say soft reformat (light reformat) or something like that, just select that and choose 1 month and it should work. but u probably fixed it by now.

Your only safe option is to reformat your XP and then install it again. I hope you made a lot of backup files cause if you didn't, then.... you need to take your comp to a shop and have someone remove the virus for you. It's going to cost you though, but it won't be much.... around the same price as an anti-virus program or less.
