Just on another point, I realised that Hu Ge was 'hurt' the most in PAL1 (Yue Ru, Lin Bao Zhu, Ah Qi, Bai Yue Jiao Zhu), compared to his other dramas.

I think I saw this same clip posted on YouTube somewhere. Tangren went over-the-top with a lot of stuff in LOCH08, LOL. I've read comments that GJ seemed almost gay towards YK, hahahah! Anyway, just to warn you - the deviations will run wild in the last 10 episodes of LOCH08. You'd prob dislike HongShi intensely in that part of the series.
