You're right about her as Yellow Dress Maiden. Her make-up was dreadful, complexion colour was off and yellow is not her colour. Furthermore, she tried to act cool and unemotional like Xiao Long Nu but turned out stiff instead. I think that was when I really started to appreciate Liu Yi Fei's XLN. She was just as cool and unemotional but she also looked ethereal. Anyway, apart from ROCH, I'm not a fan of LYF.

Xiaolongnu, where can I watch the series that you recommended, Ghetto Justice ? Need to see Kevin act good, real bad. He's so hot, hot, hot!!! Miss that killer smile of his.

The big problem with Yellow Robe was the lighting. Seriously? Who looks good with yellow lighting? Yes, we get it, her name has yellow in it.
ZJZ's earlier productions were much more meticulously produced than the later ones like Deer and the Cauldron, HSDS etc, whether it's lighting, makeup, location, costume etc. LYF had a makeup artist for her own use in ROCH as well as Semi-Gods and Semi-Devils, which made a big difference.

2010年初，唐人开始筹备《步步惊心》，指明让袁弘演戏中的四阿哥，一个注 定会红的角色。他却选择在此时离开唐人，放弃主角，甘做配角十三阿哥。问及原因，他笑笑，“这样反而自由。”他也决定离开呆了10年的上海，北上京城， “我想演的那些角色、那些好本子，都在北京，而且北京妖魔鬼怪多啊，这才有意思。”

YH says he was cast as Fourth in Bu Bu in early 2010, but he decided to leave TR at that time, and thus gave up the role for the more minor role of Thirteen. The reason? “More freedom,” he says with a smile. He also moved up north to Beijing after 10 years living in Shanghai. “The roles I want to play, the good scripts, are all in Beijing. And there are lots of monsters and ogres—it’s more fun that way.”

So according to this interview, he gave up the role in order to leave TR? Wow, I always thought that his decision to leave was made after the role-switching happened. That makes me feel a lot better, as at least YH had some say in the decision. And Nicky was indeed the perfect Fourth, as it turned out.

Really enjoyed the interview, BTW. You can totally tell YH’s the type of guy who can’t stand anything fake (also says something about the friends he chooses to hang out with), who has to give his two cents when he sees some injustice in the news. He also likes Bob Dylan and reads George Orwell.



Also read a report about Cao Xinyue, who played Ruoxi’s maid Qiao Hui in Bu Bu. Turns out SS and she become good friends through the shoot. SS gave her furry slippers because she was filming running scenes. They hang out in the free times between filming schedules, and also have made plans to visit HK together after the show ended, though it hasn’t happened yet b/c CXY has had to stay in Xi’an to take care of her grandma.

From the moment the magnolia flower fell, my emotions have been even less calm than they’ve been the past several days. Nevertheless, there are still a few things left to say. To be fair, LSS's make-up in Yellow Robe was not her usual make-up artist from her normal Tangren. The scenery/coloring of the film was gloomy and icky-yellow looking, compared to the heavenly picture/scenery of ROCH (so naturally, LYF looks radiant and beautiful), and there's so much you can do with yellow robe lady's character with only what, 30 minutes screen time? But even after all that, I don't think LSS look half bad....and pretty well known for her yellow robe lady though only as a guest role.

Thank you to everyone who’s doubted me, because you gave me the chance to examine myself and a will to fight. Thank you to everyone who had expectations for me, you made me strong and gave me faith in myself. I hope that in the end, my Maertai Ruoxi did not disappoint you.

Well, to start off, I think she's the type of person who can look good in almost anything. That's the type of description I usually reserve for Diane Kruger and the generation of Eastern European models who debuted in 2004-2006. I think the first look is cute and looks natural on her, but I also think that part of it has to do with her ability to make things look good in general and to wear clothing rather than let clothing wear her. I'd imagine that any other female actress her age would look a bit frumpy in it. I do like the accessories and hair. Overall, it's quite good.

I'm surprised she managed to look okay in the second look because Thakoon is a pretty unflattering brand on principle, and when it's not unflattering, it usually washes out the person. The shoes are nice but they don't have much of a connection to the dress. Matchy-matchy does not equal a legitimate outfit match. Anyhow, it's much better than YH's polka dotted thing. So overall, I don't really like it.

I think the third look is great. Once again, it's not something that anyone can pull off, but hardly anything is. This one looks absolutely perfect on her and is definitely well-chosen in my opinion.

Aw, I thought she was cute on Happy Camp. Or maybe that's just because she had this adorable smile on the entire time. She even matched the Happy Family, lol! I think you mean Behind the Story, not Everyday. I didn't like her hair and makeup on Behind the Story but I thought her outfit was okay. The overall look definitely could have been better, though.

The style of the second was okay, would be better if it's a solid color and not plaid.
The third dress was beautiful, but could use a belt (I think), would enhanced her waistline.

Me toooooooooo...I thought she looked adorable on Happy Camp. Didn't like her outfit in Behind the Story. In Everyday, her top was okay but didn't like the pants.
