LSS was never a replacement for LYF because LYF never belonged to Tang Ren. LSS replaced Lin Jia Yu (princess Chai in Young Warrior) when she decided to leave Tangren.

HAHHA) all i knew was that company who is producing all the shows that i like kept casting hu ge and when shi shi started appearing in hu ge's shows my only impression of her was that she was the "girl who looked like liu yi fei".. dunno they elude the same gentle aura>.< anyways i'm so proud to see how she has grown..

and shi shi seems to be getting prettier and prettier... indeed one flowers with fame..

Gosh, I disappeared for only a few weeks and I have so much to catch up. This thread grows so fast, but I love all the info, pics, and vids.

Btw, I totally agree with LXX that Shi Shi takes time to really appreciate her as an actress. I only started liking her after watching BBJX, which prompted me to check out Strange Hero. Ok, I admit, I was going to watch it for Wallace anyway, so seeing her in there was a kill 2 birds with 1 stone move. Anyway, the more I see Shi Shi, the more she grows on me in terms of her beauty and talent. I'm just impressed with her work ethics. And the fact that she can have chemistry with practically all her male co-stars. Shi-harem indeed!

^^LSS is not the kind of actress that people will see and "like" right away, especially when you watched her series in her earlier days. She's not stunningly gorgeous at first sight and her acting was mediocre, but I found many people said she grew on them. It's her dedication, hard work, and her progress in trying to improve in her acting that moved people.

Well I'm not one of those people. Like I said, I was drawn to her at first sight (from stills of Mu Nianci which I came across accidentally), enough to remember her name and look out for news of her--that is really unusual for me, as I hardly *ever* fall for someone just from a picture, and I've never been the type to 追星 (i.e. chase after celebrity stars). Another factor may be that Liao Zhai was my first exposure to her acting, where the character actually fit her pretty well despite her lack of technical proficiency. If it had been Long Kui (whom I still haven't watched, as I don't really like the styling and voice acting), it might have taken longer for me to go from liking to full-blown fan. And the more I learned about her as a person, the more I came to adore her.

As for beauty, not the best looking out of all her peers, but she is getting more and more beautiful in my eyes.

I don't disagree in the sense that I think in the standards that a lot of people measure beauty by, she doesn't stand out that much. My own personal taste has always been to put "qi zhi" over "looks" alone, so she's always been incredibly beautiful to me subjectively. At the same time, I'm not really bothered by the popular opinion that she's "less pretty" than some of her peers--in fact I think said before here that LYF is more "beautiful," by those standards). It's ok to me that my aesthetics are less "mainstream," for lack of a better term.

So I haven't been posting much lately but I've still been lurking!

I just have to say that I'm really impressed by how LSS models like a model rather than a celebrity. I'm personally not a fan of celebrity endorsements at all because they don't really do anything for images, clothing, styling, etc. aside from giving it more public attention. On the other hand, models (usually) know how to pose, how to take advantage of their angles, and their bodies flatter clothing because they wouldn't get hired any other way. There are some celebrities who can at least compare to models on this aspect but those tend to be modelesue celebrities. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with LSS in the eifini video/pictures. She models really well and I love how versatile she is in terms of styling.

Hey, this is a long ago picture of the Young Warrior cast when they just started filming on Valentine's Day 2005 (or was it 2006?)! I spotted Hu Ge, Yuan Hong and Eddie Peng, but can't see Peter Ho and LSS (nope, she's not anywhere near YH as they weren't close at that time).

That's most likely due to her ballet background I read an article from the Intelligent Life where they discussed whether dancers were better models because they needed to be constantly aware of their body and limb placement, which is why they often had to practice in front of the mirror. It mentioned how models were often advised to practice in front of mirrors to gain similar awareness of their body postures.

Gotta say I'm equally loving LSS's ad campaigns - she looks so much better with makeup (as does most women, lol).
