Liu Shi Shi looks stunningly gorgeous but sad to say...none of the guys looked appealing except for Yuan Hong and Hu Ge. Nicky use to look so hot when he was younger. My first time seeing the other rest of the cast, such as Kevin, etc. They should of just pair up Yuan Hong and Liu Shi Shi. I'm sure they will definitely get better ratings for pairing YH&ShiShi together. And if Hu Ge's not in the cast...why was he there? Is this just a press conference for Bu Bu Jing Xin.

LOL...xiaolong, I think it's the environment she's in. I think in a formal atmosphere such as above, she looked graceful and mature. But yes, I like her in a more casual environment...she's more herself in a cutsie way.

Yeah, Hu Ge will be in Happy 100 (a variety show on Southeast Satellite TV). Strange isn't it? Curious thing is, he's now listed as part of the senior management of Tangren in their Baidu company profile. So looks like he will be at Tangren's press/publicity events as a manager??!!

Actually, I think Tangren does better with wuxia and war epics than with historical dramas. But the political intrigues leading to Emperor Yongzheng's coronation have captured the fascination of Chinese historians, writers and scholars for centuries - never mind that it's set during the Qing Dynasty. Fiction can't beat reality in this case. So I'll still watch Bu Bu no matter how much I dislike the male leads.

The Prince's Study is about Prince Hongli's (son of Yongzheng) younger days - Hongli eventually becomes Emperor Qianlong. Y'know, retribution struck 4th/Yongzheng when he discovered his younger son's plan to murder Hongli, and he was forced to execute his younger son to ensure a smooth succession to the throne for Hongli/Qianlong. This incident aged 4th/Yongzheng overnight and hastened his death.

I guess I watch historical dramas bcos I studied history in uni. But I HATE fairy stories, e.g. CP1 and CP3 (dun care how popular they were), all dramas with White or Green Snake in the title, Doctor "charlatan" Tao, Zhong Kui ghost thing. Never liked Journey To The West - refuse to watch the new Monkey King movie starring Peter Ho even with him in it.

Me too. Personally, I find Nicky's neck too thick and the bald head will emphasize that neck. And Kevin's latest pic in bald head and Qing costume make his features look even more simian than they already are. And to think he made a big hooha about "sacrificing" his hair for Bu Bu in the media - what a spoil sport.

So what if 4th Prince was suppose to be 43? Who's to say a mustached YH can't be a youthful-looking 43-year-old? There are plenty of 40-somethings who can look 30. And YH's chemistry with LSS would draw much more viewers than Tiger. Makes me gag to see her force smile while trapped between those two uncles.

About Hu Ge. I remembered Karen stating she asked Hu Ge (during the time when his contract was expiring) if he wanted partnership/ownership of the company, since he was already a significant person in the company. Nothing much was said, so I guess he did invest in the company and owns a portion of it. So, it would make sense that he manages and shows up for publicity events for Tangren's productions like Karen did.

Dragon Heiress...something to look forward too Wallace, Ma Tianyu, Hu Ge, and LSS in a variety show together!!

I wonder if Hu Ge will be involved in the "Happy 100" show or just there for support(as a manager). Also, I am curious why Hu Ge's name was linked to Strange Hero in recent news. The news listed the series Hu Ge was involved in so far this year and Strange Hero was one of them...I was like "huh?". Was it because he sang the theme song? Karen did mention awhile back she had a small part for him in the series. And now, he is going to the show with the cast...so I have a suspicion that he will be a cameo in Strange Hero!...LOL...hmmmmmmmmm......

Tangren can do well in historical if they inject a heavy dose of wuxia and battle/war elements, like in Young Warriors. They probably intended to do so with Tian Ya, but all those scenes were cut. Unfortunately for Bu Bu, there may not be much battle/war scenes until the end when 13th's army fights 14th's army. MOST of Bu Bu is about political intrigue which I'm not sure they can do well.

Anyway, at least there's Strange Hero and Tian Zhi Hen we can look forward to!

Oh don't get me wrong....I'm still looking forward to watching it (mainly for LSS), just not as excited as I would have been

But then again, I shouldn't judge too quickly. I think the least Karen can do for us is find a man more appealing for Liu Shi Shi if not YH, so than we won't be so disappointed. Than we can at least ship ShiShi with that other appealing man like ShiShi and Wallace for Strange Hero. One thing I look in a series is the cast and the storyline. (im picky.) Hopefully the 14th prince can impress me when I watch the serie. BTW, which one is Tian Zihen? Will Liu Shi Shi be the lead for that serie as well?

I was excited about Tian Ya only because of LSS and YH, not because of the storyline (which I didn't find fascinating and boring), and ended up being very disappointed at the end product (no fault of LSS-YH of course ).

Well, I read Karen was looking to get Janine into Tangren, but Janine chose to remain in Taiwan and hence renewed her contract with her Taiwanese management company. I'm glad LSS is the lead in Bu Bu though. Her acting still needs improvement, but she has the screen presence. Even though her scenes comprised only one-tenth of (the badly edited) Tian Ya, she stole the show from Janine. You can tell from the fan and critic reviews on Baidu, Sina etc.

I'm not sure how smart or stupid Karen can be. YH-LSS is such a fantastic marketing tool and publicity draw. With Tian Ya, no matter how much she edited it to destroy YH-LSS and turn it into a Janine vehicle or women's drama (whatever), the press in China were only interested in interviewing YH-LSS. Then she got deluged with hate mail on her wei bo and bad publicity about their deleted scenes, their cancelled interviews, etc.

My feel is that she got mighty annoyed with YH-LSS camaraderie in the Sohu/Youku interviews that she ensured they were apart at Bu Bu press conference. Notice that LSS (being naturally reserved) never touches her co-stars at public events, but she touches YH a lot - if she's not separated from him.

Now I hear that Wallace Chung is going to be in Ruby's Qing Shi Huang Fei, that's why he turned down Bu Bu. Why am I getting the feeling Karen won't release YH from Bu Bu filming schedule for Ruby's series....

I actually think Lin Geng Xin is better-looking than Hu Ge..hehe

Well, let's see how much screen presence Lin Geng Xin has. I thought he looks a bit like Peter Ho. Of all Tangren's new artistes, I think he has the most promise. I really can't see Guo Xiaoting as a leading actress.

YH was suppose to be 4th or 8th Prince originally. Then he broke his Tangren contract.
