Before Gwok Jing formally entered the world of wulin, he had already won a measure of renown among the Mongols as an excellent archer. During the many years of Gwok Jing's wulin career, however, were his archery skills really of much use to him? There are only two occassions that I know of, both in ROCH, where his expertise in archery actually came to be useful. The first was at the gate of Seung Yeung Fortress, where he shot an arrow to deflect an incoming arrow that had been shot by the Golden Wheel Monk. That shot sent the Mongol army retreating for the day. The second occassion was at the end of ROCH, when Gwok Jing used his archery skill to shoot a sword for Yeung Gor to use in combat against the Golden Wheel Monk.
Other than that, however, were there other occasions when Gwok Jing's archery skills actually came in handy?
Rider question: what other wuxia heroes were known to be good archers (discounting Jebeh, who taught Gwok Jing)?
