A temporary synopsis of Nicholas and Gillian's love story.

Coming out from JinYong's 'Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain', then running into GuLong's 'Rinsing Flowers and Purifying Swords', Gillian Chung, who includes beauty and martial arts in oneself, appears with her senior, Nicholas Tse, in a TV series for the first time.

In the series, Nicholas Tse, playing SanYe DaZhong, has great martial arts with a kind heart, but because of the orders of his master before his death, he went alone to search for a worthy sword. To fufill his master's wishes, DaZhong (Nicholas) was forced to kill the leader of San Dong, Bak Sam Hung. From that, he was being hunted down by the martial arts world.

Being injured on his way, he received the caring of Chu Yee (Gillian Chung). To protect Chu Yee (Gillian), DaZhong(Nicholas) accidentally killed Lee Zi Yuen. From their time together, a romance was born. However, because his master had told him not to reveal any of his feelings, the two of them have been left in the guessing stage. From the battle in Bak Wan Goon, Chu Yee (Gillian) had been hypnotized by her father, causing her to point a sword at DaZhong(Nicholas). Being devastated, Chu Yee(Gillian) has decided, in order to not hurt her loved one anymore, to leave. Perhaps it is fate, the two of them met up at a nunnery a while later. To let Chu Yee(Gillian) have a happy live, DaZhong(Nicholas) has decided to set everything down temporarily. Unfortunately, things worked out to be against what was wished for. After seeing her own father kill a nun, WaiKok, Chu Yee(Gillian) chose to go with DaZhong(Nicholas) to a sword pavilion, where a grand battle is about to take place . . .

Nicholas and Gillian will be portraying this romance of pain and hardships to project a romantic, heartbreaking, memorable feeling . . . but the ending is happy!

This will be Nicholas' third ancient drama. Although it is again GuLong's characters, SanYe DaZhong will be giving Nicholas an all-new image on-screen. Towards Gillian, 'Rinsing Flowers and Purifying Swords' will be her ultimate chance to make a new challenge in ancient dramas come true!

The 2007 version has written more about DaZhong and Chu Yee's romance, and Nicholas Tse and Gillian Chung from Hong Kong have been invited to play those characters.

About to begin its filming, the storyline has had quite a bit of changes to make the love stories of the three couples more appealing. Through the changes, Fong Bo Yuk is no longer the definite main character. The largest change must be making SanYe DaZhong (Nicholas) and Chu Yee (Gillian)'s storyline and progress more appealing. In the novel, the love story of these two characters were blank. Now, in the series, it was designed for them to have a complicated and devastating love story. From sources, Nicholas Tse's character in the series will be very cool and untalkative, and Gillian Chung's character will be kind and smart while being good and evil at the same time.

Eeew, what's wrong with the costuming and the hair? Nic looked much better in Dan Ren Wu..in here, he looks like some silly street punk while Gillian, though her costumes are normal-looking, does not look as striking and attractive as in Flying Fox.

Oh, I guess I'm the opposite. Gillian's outfits are actually feminine, outlines her womanly curves quite well versus CLS's sloppy raggy pancho that made Gillian appear like a walking blanket, lol.

Well, these are blurry, low quality photos so it's difficult to measure Gillian's attractiveness. So far, Gillian is sweet and gentle looking.

I hope Gillian continues to improve in acting.

Nicholas reminds me of those crazy samurais.

I dunno, she looks more...erm hot? and sweet-looking in Flying Fox, despite the weird dressing, maybe cause the shade of blue compliments her beauty well. Her outfit in here is very puffy-looking and makes her look fluffed up..but, maybe she'll have other nicer outfits and hair. Not only do i hope Gillian's acting improves in here, Nic as well..they're both not really great actors despite their experience. I dont deny they make great eye candy for the series though...

Qiao Zhen Yu has looked better elsewhere. What happened to all the good costumer designers and make-up artists? I think they need to hire better ones. The top ones usually do the Mainland big-scale ancient historical drama, which just have gorgeous sets and costumes.

Dramas like these seem a bit...well cheap. I think Gillian looked better in Flying Fox too. Her dress here looks a bit...weird. The style isn't so bad if they could've done something about the colors. Oh well, maybe she has better costumes elsewhere.

OMG......Yang Rui is in this! She was awesome in ROCH! From the pics, Gillian looks better in "Fox Volant".....wow, Gillian is getting way more big projects than Charlene....wonder why?
Anyways, this is Gu Long...so I might not watch it....but Yang Rui is a really good actress...how big is her role as the princess?

Actually, I believe QZY and YR are the main pair, Nicholas and Gillian are the supporting second pair and there's another third pair as well.

I'm Gulong's fan, this is again one of Gulong's Best "Mid-production" novel. I have read this novel 3 times and all I can say is this book is definitely worth reading from time to time. The main character Fang Bao Yu is an interesting character. However I have Never heard of Shan Ye Da Zhang or Zhu'er in the novel at all, neither do the introduction of the story sounds similar to the novel. btw Shan Ye Da Zhang is the main lead in this tv adaption and not Fang Bao Yu... I guess this is just another poor, unfaithful tv adaption...
