Yes she was definitely overexcited and wanted to express to people that her hardwork has finally paid off but then again, "everyone" works hard in this world.

Yes Gallen presented the award. Usually the awards are presented from the previous year's winners but it's funny how this year the best actor presents the award to the best actress rather than to the actor. Did Gallen won last year's best actor then cause I don't remember.

hehe funny cuz flora gave the awards 2 best actor this yr. & she also won best actress last year. i've never noticed that b4. did louis win 2 years ago cuz he gave out best actress award last year.

maggie sounds a bit arrogant 2 me 4 saying how much her hard work has FINALLY paid off. puh-lease!!! i think she just now improved recently & was finally able 2 compete w/ the other actresses. in her early years, she was mediocre compared 2 the rest of them. it's not hard work cuz every1 else works hard 2. it's actually just hard & major IMPRROVEMENTS. she needed 2b more modest.

Wow, a little self concious there Hmmm...how long has she actually been in the entertainment business actually? I do think that anyone who has the right to gloot and brag the most here is Roger kwok!!! I think its 17 years of his hard work and finally now he gets recognized for it!!!! Then again he seems really like a modest type of guy so wouldn't do that.

I read somewhere that most of Jessica's co-stars in a series have all won the best actor award.

1998- Secret of the heart - Gallen Lo (didn't pair but she was still in it)
1999 - DIF4 - Louis Koo - ( she won best actress)
2000 - Witness to a prosecution - Bobby Au Yeung
2001 - ASITP - Louis Koo
2002 - Golden Faith - Gallen Lo
2003 - Square Pegs - Roger Kwok

Oh! Goddess I'm jealous cas I want to watch Jess and Gallen too! I find it funny cas I can't get my hands on that and you can't seem to get the award presentation. Just go and join a TVB shop and borrow it, thats what i did ( even though I don't understand cantonese!) I now watch all my series in Cantonese and then later on go and borrow the dubbed versions (I'm too obsessed I just can't wait for the dubbed versions especially if their Jessica's series)

yup ppl r saying she brings good luck 2 her male partners, i definately agree. c louis AND jessica won in '99 for DIF4 & there wasn't n/e rule that 1 serie can't win both awards. now all of a sudden we have this new rule in '03.

here's y i think it came about (a bit confusing, hope u all understand): TVB has 2 "popular" producers. we're calling them A & B. well producer A usually does jessica's series while producer B does maggie's. producer B doesn't like the fact that both main awards r leaning towards Square Pegs so she openly support maggie. thus a new "rule" came out & jessica did say in an article that the rules r out of her control & there's nothing she can do about it. she's willing 2 sacrafice her own award so roger cud get his recognition. (SHE'S SO MODEST!!)

Jessica Hsuan took part as a guest speaker to three hundred university students who are soon to step out into the world of work and shared her experiences. Disliking being photographed ever since she was young, Jessica applied to become a flight attendant after graduating from university so that she could have free holidays, but somehow she ended up in the showbiz industry and in the blink of an eye it has been eleven years already...

Skincare brand Neutrogena held a talk at City University earlier to present interview skills to some graduates who will be entering society soon. The evening was split into four sections that were 'correct skincare methods', 'an enthusiastic and optimistic image', 'good communication skills' and 'direction of ambitions'. Many professionals were invited as guest speakers and this was followed by the final item that was the product spokesperson Jessica Hsuan offering her experiences on jobseeking to an audience of over three hundred. Jessica suggested that your target occupation should take into account your strengths, personality and interests. Although this was the first time she had given such a speech, she managed to make her audience laugh on several occasions and was fairly successful.

Having studied Materials Engineering in England, Jessica admits that at first she had never thought about entering showbiz, but it was purely by chance that she ended up making an advertisement that was followed by a screen test for TVB. She says: "Actually I didn't like studying, so I just went for a pass each time and get by with my parents. After graduation, I felt that so many years studying was hard work, so I wanted to go travelling, but I didn't have any money, so I applied to become a flight attendant, but then TVB called me and eventually signed me and I have been there for eleven years since."

For her first time as a public speaker, Jessica laughs that she was quite nervous, but luckily she was sharing her own experiences so she wrote down some of the main points whilst having her hair done so that she would have a guide when she was on stage. She says: "Actually my path has been very smooth, so I don't really have much right to talk about it, however I will take this opportunity to pass out some positive advice in the hope that when these students come out to work in society, they will not have too much pressure, because Hong Kong's enviroment and lifestyles are highly pressure inducing." She says that when she went to TVB for an audition, she was just feeling relaxed about it and not worrying about any gain or loss.

Thanks babygurl for the article!!! Hehe, Jess looks nice in that pic even though its a bit blurry. Gosh, I really dislike how TVB is coming up with all these "rules" and all!!!! Hehe, I do diffinately agree with you babygurl that Jessica' is indeed modest and a great person for letting Roger get the award. But then again I don't think she had too much to do with that since you know he didn't really even have a competitor so he would have won either way. Also diffinate deserves it!!!! I sorta don't think we should associate Roger's win with Jessica's lost and all.

yeah i wasn't associating roger's win with jessica's lost. i was just making a point of how modest jessica was that she would rather give up her win 4 a friend if she could. roger definately deserved his acknowledgements after 17yrs in the biz going unnotticed. cheers 4 roger!

Good Luck in finding one cas I just go in and point at the pictures for the series I want, and don't speak a word. They probably think I'm crazy! but at the moment I'm learning cantonese so hopefully one day I can understand and can communicate with hong kong people especially someone by the name of Jessica Hsuan and Louis Koo!
